The Helicopter Line Franz Josef Glacier

The staff were really friendly, the loader and pilot were excellent. The flight was breathtakingly beautiful and to stand on the glacier was a fantastic experience.

The Helicopter Line were great.Due to the day being quite windy our flight was pushed back a few times, but when we did go up it was amazing.We were able to do an alpine landing, and the 20 minute flight was $300 each.I would definitely recommend going on a helicopter to see the glacier.Also, wear boots rather than trainers if doing the landing as the snow was pretty deep when we were up there.

Took a few days to wait out bad weather but had a great scenic flight in the end complete with a very cool landing.Took the two glacier option which is a fairly quick ride but a spectacular one, flying up both glaciers, right in front of mount cook and the snow field where you land. Compared to a viewpoint trail, well you can’t compare it. Great pilot, smooth flying and all very efficient.The only real downside is the seat configuration and loop route for a full view. While I’ve had tours in other mountains that moved around to balance things out, this one is a direct loop. So unless you snag the front seat, you’ll be limited to one side or peering over people if you’re in the middle with multiple groups. Still a great view, just something to keep in mind.

The top photo is my mum and my late father in May, 2003.The bottom photo is my mum and I in January, 2023.If you look closely, the background of each photo matches up perfectly.This wasn't intentional, we didn't even notice until we got back to Australia and compared the photos! Truly a once in a lifetime coincidence.The flight was incredible of course, I recorded over 20 minutes of spectacular views from the helicopter. Easily my favourite experience on the South Island and that is saying something! Can't recommend enough!

Bad customer service , we booked the flight from Febuary online for May and when we arrived , nobody contact us earlier to cancel the trip for an underconstruction route even via text ,email or phone .Then we have changed to only scenic flight on the same morning and we came back exactly the same time they told us to but unfortunately , again they told us to came back in the afternoon.What a miserable company.

Omg what an experience of a lifetime. Couldn't have loved it more. Great pilot, smooth ride, incredible views. Couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces.

A great experience! Our first trip was delayed as the weather changed suddenly, but we went up the next day and managed a landing on Fox's Glacier. It really is stunning, like nothing I've done before.

Fantastic flight. Difficult few days for everyone due to terrible weather & power outage, which meant our flight was cancelled, but they were very helpful and accomodating and we eventually got our flight and landed on Fox Glacier. It was a truly wonderful experience
