The food definitely lives up to the name of the place, in fact i think eating rat packs would be more appealing. The wedges were terrible, burnt and took forever to get to us. The kids chicken tenders tasted like fish. One poor elderly vetran was sitting there for over an hour for his food and still hadnt got it when we left! Service was shocking.

Great place to eat !We are staying behind the national army museum and for dinner had for two adults.We had the beef burger and chips and the kids fish and chips so nice and so generous the doggy got a treat.Really Nice place and lovely staff !!!Will be back for sure

Had a Lunch after our visit to the Museum, as it’s in the same building. Very friendly staff and great service. The food was delicious and the prices are good too. If you’re Gluten-free rather ask, as I couldn’t eat their fries. Really enjoyed my minced potato. Definitely worth a visit if you’re hungry or thirsty. Their coffee was delicious too. Cheers

First bad coffee I've had in New Zealand, very bitter/burnt flavour. Lots of trouble getting the server to understand my order so one got left out completely. Quite expensive for a small cup

Amazing pancakes, they are served with banana, berry compote and maple syrup. These are one of the best pancakes I've ever had and the only feedback I'd give on them is that there is just too little maple syrup and the bananas are uncooked, apart from this the pancakes are a solid 10/10.

I would say 4.5 stars as the coffee was ok. The food however from what we ordered was generous for the price and tasty. The children fish and chips was crispy and pretty on point. It was the weekend so the fish was fresh enough. The mac and cheese was exceptional. Yes there was mac and I was expecting a white sauce with a smattering of cheese. Instead the cheese sauce was rich, tasty amd stringy. The bacon was enough to add the saltiness. My only opinion that could have elevated it would be caramelized onions. Staff were friendly and helpful even when busy. Wheelchair accessible and the museum is worth checking out.

Februay 2023A very pleasant place to stop for a refreshment break. Very pleasant surroundings which are a part of the Army Museum.An excellent selection of food as well as very nice coffee. Along with the cleanliness of the cafe, the staff were very attentive too.Right next to the cafe is a very nice and well stocked shop selling souvenirs and Military memorabilia.A great place to stop for a break even if you haven't got time to go the full monty" and go through the Museum.There are a few military vehicles that you can view without having to enter the museum."
