Hakuna Matata Cafe
This was my first time coming in for food, absolutely amazing! Couldn't fault a thing. Staff were friendly and accommodating, relaxed atmosphere, extremely clean and of course amazing coffee! I highly reccomend stopping in. Will definitely be back! 11/10

Hakuna Matata Cafe
The staff is nice but the food is disappointing.The ciabatta didn’t get proper rest and proved which there was no big holes in it. I only got this issue when I screwed it in the cooking class here. Very sad to see an established business providing this kind of ciabatta.The potatoes was greasy and soft which I am not sure what style it belongs to as I never had any before(see 2nd photo).Poached eggs were pretty much average.Ordered salmon and avo brioche but came with only a few small pieces of avo scattered around which I don’t think this looks fair.The milk in the coffee was not made properly presenting small holes instead of smooth look, pretty much average level.To respect food itself we had almost of it.My day started with a disappointing breakfast.

My Mum, Colleen & I came up to Kaikoura for a weekend away together at Easter. On the Saturday we decided to drive through to Blenheim as it had been many years since we had visited & it’s a great wee town. The first place we spotted was Hakuna Matara Cafe, we were in need of food & coffee. We were greeted by a lovely man, the owner, we both chose Eggs Benedict, salmon & bacon & coffee, wow, prompt service & our meals were delicious, honestly just amazing & the coffee had good strength not weak & milky. They even had their son come over to ask if we were happy with everything, nice young man, nice touch. Thank you for your hospitality & great food. We would highly recommend you visit when you’re in Blenheim folks.

Hakuna Matata Cafe
We just went in for coffee, as we'd only just had breakfast at our B&B. The service we received was warm and friendly and our coffee and chai were very good indeed.We did find it quite noisy from echoes from lots of chatter nearby but the busyness and obvious good following it has, has probably got a lot to do with it.Certainly worth revisiting one day.

I recently visited Cafe and it was a great experience. The cafe had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Cafe to anyone looking for a good meal and a pleasant atmosphere.

Hakuna Matata Cafe
Hand on heart, I phoned at short notice and asked for a reservation 'no problem' came the reply. The food was simply delicious. I never left a crumb. The team was so helpful and pleasant, a real joy.Often when eating out there is something not quite to your liking.. This was not one of those times!I know where I'm going next time I'm in town :)

Had a pretty disappointing experience at Hakuna Matata :( it was the four of us, and 2/4 ordered the poached eggs on toast. For both, bacon wasn’t crunchy and barely cooked, the eggs were hard boiled and the piece of sourdough was just dry toasted in the toaster (not in butter or anything) and had no butter on it. Also had no sauce with these.The others ordered a salmon and avo toast, which was delightful and had lots of capers (yum!), the coffee was great, and the French toast was good. Just the bacon&eggs on toast have spoilt the experience :(

Hakuna Matata Cafe
Awesome place, lovely and welcoming atmosphere. Staff makes sure everyone feels comfortable and is happy. Could stay here for hours (I actually did.)The coffee is very delicious and perfectly balanced. Cheese scones and toasties are fabulous.Best spot in Blenheim!Please do yourself a favor and check it out if you like good coffee and a relaxing vibe.Thanks for accomodating me.
