FOOD POISONING BEWARE.Under new BAD managementOur dish had clearly bad sour tofu in it. We returned it. We now all have shocking food poisoning, including our dear friends almost 2 year old :( Thankfully our 1 year old daughter wasn’t offered this dish and she is the only one not unwell.

very goodI started to eat in this place at the very beginning when they took over from the previous one.I was amazed by the taste by then.Even surprised me the most is they have very steady quality of the food. This is not easy especially Chinese cuisine is not something you can learn and pass on the LL legacy with some recipes.Pearl is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Auckland, it is still.

One of my fave Chinese Restaurants. The manger has the best service. The food is delicious. Except some dishes’ portions a little bit small for the price. The price is a little expensive but definitely worth. Black Pepper Diced Beef with Pleurotus Erygnii and Yeung Chow Fried Rice are my favourite. Kimchi is their recent new dish. It has cabbage, apple, orange and ginger. Very refreshing as an appetiser. The interior is very nice too.

It's a not recommend from me.Service was good, it can not however compensate for the rest. Food were terrible presentation looks like left over from another dish just slapped on to the dish. I am not suggesting that it was leftovers, to the ppl in the kitchen if you can not be stuff doing your job, just leave don't ruined your employer business and the effort of foh. However FOH should also haved look at the dish presentation before putting it in front of the customer.The vegetables in the dishes were hastily cut and uneven cooked unevenly some part were cooked other were crunchy raw or half cooked.Management needs to move smokers from the doorways cigarettes smokes got into the restaurants defeats the purpose of no smoking policy.

-Relatively good environment-Most of food we ordered were delicious though some of them were not at the right temperature eg. Beef with bamboo shoots was not hot enough.-Reasonable price-All the waiters and waitresses who served us tonight were working hard, buy they rarely smile. We did not really feel welcome. While dining nobody came over to check if we liked our food.-One young guy who arranged us seated was friendly and helpful.-Menus look shabby, which need to be redesigned.-The tea served was lukewarm, to our disappointment, 8 napkins for 11 diners, not enough serving chopsticks or spoons. Some cutlery are not perfect with stains.-They listened to customers and complaints. (We received unexpected huge discount at the checkout counter). That was a huge relief to me.-I believe that this restaurant has room to improve. Their business could be getting better and better as they have taken customers feedback seriously.-Good luck to this Pearl Restaurant! I may come again to try their dishes of bamboo shoots.

this place is well decorated. staff were in manner and helpful. Food here is mostly east chinese cuisine. we ordered 3 traditional dishes and rice, all of them tasted good, and resonable priced.

One of the best Asian restaurants in Auckland for food.

This is by far the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. It was inedible ,tough, old , overcooked dishes just reheated and what’s more , very expensive. It has a tasteful decor, classy menu but forgot to put the taste into their food. I gave one star because it is attractive but no stars for the food…Auckland have some lovely restaurants so please ignore this one…
