My experience with Champion Property staff is ok. I do understand that they want they want the property they manage to be clean as possible and the payment should be on time. Always advices in advance whenever they will come and visit the house that you are renting. As a tenant, I know that the property owners are in good hands with them because they do their job well in maintaining the property..

I have known Godfrey, Trish and the Champion team for the last four years - and know beyond all doubt that this team holds itself to the highest levels of professional excellence and customer service. As a current tenant for a champion property for the last year, I have mixed feeling about how things are managed. I have been a renter for 14years in Nelson and have dealt with a vast range of owners and managers in that time.Although Champion are good at communicating with tenants both in advance and in response - the way in which this is done and operations are achieved is lacking in its human management.Because of this (and despite the fact that I'm a respectful tenant who also has good credit and a good renting history), I don't feel like I want to make the same effort that I have always done in the past when I leave this current property. The extra work on my part is not going to be appreciated or translate as beneficial to my future as my manager has told me that she is not aloud to write a rental reference for me. This sort of thing will have a long term impact on my renting record as a verbal reference wont always be achievable at 5years down the track.This is due to the lack of effort being made to the ethical responsibilities that property managers have to tenants at Champion.The little things that affect day-to-to enjoyment eventually build up to be problems by the end of a tenancy, such as; having trades people who were doing quotes being sent through the house unattended with a key, of which I was instructed of by email. I would have prefered that either I or the property manager was present had I have been given the respect of that option.It was even suggested to me that I should pay for the carpet to be cleaned after the tradesman have done the renovations that my tenancy is being ended to achieve - a month or so after the date that I will have been moved out!!!Showing a little respect for the fact that currently the house is somebodies home goes a very long way and actions like not providing times of property inspections so I could arrange my life to be there also is another ridgid demonstration of how their customer/client interactions could be improved.If I was a home owner, I would want my property manager to avoid needlessly causing tenant resentment by attending to all aspects of the job and client relationship.

Have rented from Champion Property for 3 years and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat! Family started business, Godfrey's a charmer and Grace (Daughter) is awesome to deal with! On the odd occasion we've had an issue, I swear it was the following day we had a Handyman knocking at our door to fix it. Very grateful for their help. Will continue with them with comfort :D

I have always found Trish from Champion Property to be very efficient and polite in her business dealings with us and has dealt promptly with any problems that have arisen. I have no hesitation recommending Champion Property management to anyone looking for a reliable property manager to manage their property and tenants.

Can you make a zero star review? Champion Property have managed my previously rental property very poorly. Firstly, during the initial inspection report we couldn't help but notice the grease, dirt, fly poo and mold throughout the property. Management had to admit that the property was not cleaned for us to move in. In an attempt to remedy the situation they offered no more than one hours cleaning services which didn't get much done at all. I was left with the rest to clean myself. To keep the review shorter I'll just note that during my tenancy the property maintenance was barely achieved and communication was always an epic fail. To top it off, in the final weeks of the contract I was led to believe that I would be offered a new contract to continue the lease. However, this was not the case and they sprung a 21 day eviction notice. This is a challenge in the Nelson market for a solo parent of two school age kids. So I cleaned for them and left the property in a great condition however this was not enough as they attempted to bully me on exit with several property managers at the property making false accusations against myself and my moving/cleaning crew. Finally, they have intentionally held back on my bond return making me wait 3 weeks when it could have been all done in 3 days. I am a long term and very respectful renter in Nelson with great references. Do not list your property with Champion Property Management Nelson if you want a good job done. Nicola Perry is a person who will use her position of power against you in personal disagreements! Very unprofessional business etiquette! UPDATE: After reading this review individual's at champion property have made wild accusations of physical assault taking place within a public primary school during school time.......c'mon guys!

Godfrey and Trish have managed 2 properties for us. One for about 4 years, one for just over 1 year. When we got the second property we had no hesitation in choosing Champion. We have always been impressed by their immediate communication, advice, choice of tenents, and the quality of their inspections. Because of the work that they do our rentals have been stress-free profitable investments. I will continue to use Trish for our future investments.Terry Dwyer
