A boutique hotel in the perfect location that has every comfort you need. From warmed towels to a lovey bottle of wine or perhaps a port. You’re are so welcomed, you can even do a load of laundry. Take a break and treat yourself. It’s worth it.

Beautiful place to stay, centre of town for walking distance to stores and of course Barkers are just next door. Well set out, clean and very comfortable making for a wonderful experience

We have lived in New Zealand for almost 5 years and travelled around both the North and South Islands. In these 5 years, we have stayed at many hotels, motels and B&Bs, and the Vicarage is by far the best accomodation so far. The bottle of wine and chocolates in the room, and the glass of port in the sitting area perfects the stay. Highly recommend place to stay in Geraldine and New Zealand.

My husband and I stayed at The Vicarage over the new year, it was a last minute decision to stay in Geraldine as there was no available accommodation in Lake Tekapo.Both of us agreed that it was one of the best places that we’ve stayed in! Amazing attention to detail, and everything was so immaculate. Super king sized bed was really comfortable and the room had a mix of old and new that prompted us to read up on the history of the building and the Barker’s family, which brought a lot of meaning to the ground we stayed in.Little touches like the complimentary bottle of wine and glasses of port in the common area are all so well thought out. Geraldine was not on my list of places to visit in New Zealand, but The Vicarage Geraldine and the food store and eatery Barker’s behind it made it worth it. The rooms are stylish and clean yet historic. The house has a lovely sitting room and outdoor sitting areas. There are booklets with the history of the Vicarage building. I wish I would’ve stayed one more night if I had more time.

Hats off to Brigitte and Michael Barker for their outstanding renovation of this historic building. We stayed there last night and the attention to detail is impressive. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are super clean and comfortable. There’s a couple of common lounge areas if you’re travelling with a group, along with a small laundry. Take time to look through the book outlining the arduous restoration process - a true labour of love. I thoroughly recommended The Vicarage if you are planning to stay in the area.

We stayed last night in this beautifully restored Vicarage Geraldine. Stunning decor, quiet beautiful rooms, and loved the shared lounge to relax in! Complimentary bottle of wine, nip of Port and a Barker's Preserve were delightfully unexpected touches. Located central to this charming town it is beside Barkers new Cafe which is ideal for coffee, brunch and replenishing the culinary supplies for home!Just Loved our Stay!

The Vicarage in Geraldine with it’s rich history is an absolutely outstanding hotel perfectly located to explore Geraldine. It’s modern rooms with all the luxury is a lovely surprise. The complimentary wine in the room put you into a relaxing mood and you just know you will enjoy your stay. We will definitely come back with friends and I would highly recommend this hotel.

What an exceptional and outstanding property. The best place we have stayed in for a long time.Everything has been thought of. Quality decor, toiletries, luxury bathroom, very quiet, comfortable bed, plenty of space and in the heart of Geraldine. The laundry facilities were very handy and easy to use. Loved the wallpaper and the feel of the property. Wish we had stayed longer!
