On the Write a Novel course, my writing improved in leaps and bounds in ways that would have been impossible on my own. Feedback was a mix of kindness and encouragement and brutal honesty, all in careful balance. I'm very grateful I found this course and recommend it for anyone else with dreams of writing a novel.

The experience through my game writing course has been fantastic!Paul is patient, knowledgeable and helpful. His feedback is prompt and detailed, which improves my worldbuilding and character development skills significantly.I'd love to check back to try another course at some point when I am available. I highly recommend The Write a Novel course with the NZ Writers College. The assignments are practical, and along with the feedback from my tutor, Sonny Whitelaw, they helped me transform my writing style. Sonny was brilliant - loved her perceptive feedback, her humour, and her practical tips on how to strengthen my plotting.

As someone who considered myself fairly proficient in the art of Proofreading/Copy-editing, I found this course surprisingly challenging. It was very rigorous and in-depth compared to other similar courses . I can see why students who gain over 70% are offered a trial internship. It wasn’t easy!!!

The travel writing course with my tutor, Ewan McDonald, surpassed all my expectations. I have a much better appreciation of how the industry works and my writing has improved throughout. The course was enjoyable and informative and I would highly recommend the writers college to any aspiring writers.

As someone who has always loved grammar, punctuation and sentence structure - yes, I am that person! - I found the Copy-Editing and Proofreading Course really enjoyable. Di, my tutor, gave great feedback and encouragement on my assessments. Overall, it has improved my skills and I would highly recommend it to anyone who was thinking of pursuing an editing career.

NZ Writers College is a fantastic place to begin or continue your writing journey. I completed the Introduction to Poetry course (with fabulous tutor, Arja Salafranca.) I was a poetry novice - all I knew is that I love to write! This course helped me to hone my craft in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I saw my initial drafts turning into shining publication-worthy gems. This course has done wonders for my confidence as a writer. I am even considering sending in work that I produced for publication (a dream of mine!) Thanks to the team that made it happen, I would definitely recommend this course.
