I drop off my friend who dog sits for us. She likes to catch her bus from here as its warm and dry plus there's food places all close by to grab a snack.

Excellent central bus interchange. Big and spacious hub with plenty of space, seats and toilets. Information desk open during the day selling tickets and printed timetable leaflets and map available. Uses unusual concept of advising which ‘platform’ the service will go from and only confirms the actual stop within the platform area a couple of minutes before arrival. This is a clever way of avoiding situations where buses have to go from the wrong stop, which is often common elsewhere

I am an Indian Australian travelling to New Zealand for leisure. I needed to buy a ticket to get on the bus 28. I went to the lady sitting at left counter around 1:35 PM at Christchurch Bus Interchange Metro Info, and asked her if I could buy a ticket. She said I will have to pay to driver in cash and was trying to explain to me like I don’t know know English. She didn’t tell me about the option of buying a $5 day pass. I was only carrying my credit card and couldn’t have withdrawn cash. I was struggling to find cash fir the ticket. It was only after I visited the centre again and spoke to lady on the second counter that I learnt about the day pass option.

I like the $2 lockers... Big enough for a small backpack, and you get your $2 coin back when you're through. Great for when you want a day trip without the excess luggage, before the flight out.The signage is easy to read and the buses are announced as they pull in to the station.

A modern bus interchange that allows access to most of Christchurch bus services. They provide printed maps and timetables for bus services. TV screens display all bus services.You can also buy a bus pass for $5, if you plan using the buses regularly. The only negative is that at times it can be conjested by cruise ships passengers. Also, at time it attracts unsavoury people who are drunk or unsocial. The staff however are nice and friendly.
