Stewart Motors - Auto Super Shoppes Queenstown

I took my car in for a full replacement of shock absorbers and a muffler replacement and they were great. I live in Fiordland so am hard to get hold of and they were excellent at communicating, kept me updated with the progress and offered a courtesy vehicle. They also saved money on the muffler by repairing it. Very friendly, highly recommend.

As backpackers, this was the best mechanic my wife and I encountered throughout our entire 2.5 yrs in NZ. Great, honest, no nonsense team with fair prices. Would recommend without question.

Friendly personnel, good communication before and during my car service. Accurate estimation of repair cost. I had an engine problem and it was solved in 1 day. As my car is a rusty bucket, they could rip me off, but they only noted what parts require attention. I would recommend this place to people with minor or major vehicle problems.

Most unpleasant experience in Queenstown.I brought my car for a regular service on 10th Feb 2020. After I payed 188bucks for the service. They said I can't drive it away without a part for coolant being repaired which costs 250~300.And also they need the part to be delivered next morning.I got my plan the next day,so I just wanted to try somewhere else to see if they got the part so it could be done on 10th. The other garage said they won't be able to know which part needs to be fixed unless they did a same check. Since I didn't want to waste too much time. I just brought my car back to Stewart Motors. They told me to ring 10:30 next morning.I left my car with them. I called at 10:30, 11th Feb, I was told the part has just arrived". 53minutes later

What a legend! Couldn’t have been more helpful. Kindly answered all our qs over the phone and then went out of their way to fit us in that afternoon. Showed us exactly what was up with the car and then fixed it within 2 hours as they had the parts in stock. Followed up with some helpful notes on what work might need doing next. Comms were super clear and we are so thankful that they were able to help us out so we could speed on to the next part of our trip. Highly recommend, thanks again!

Once we faced our vehicle problem while we were travelling to Queenstown. At this time we tried to find a place for fix it. But wasn’t easy.Finally found a very kind Gentleman at Stewart Motors, he helped us to get sorted without any delay and free of charge. Thank you very much Stewart Motors team.

Worst ever experience. Charged me appox $230 labour fee for nothing. I was assured my car has no issues and it broke down the next day and yet they couldn’t figure out the problem. I got it fixed elsewhere who instantly who were more knowledgeable, cheaper and reliable.

Super efficient! I went there for a problem with my windows and they could order the new piece and fix everything in one week ! I'd recommend them 100% !Thanks again !

I had the exhaust replaced by Stuart Motors in 2017. Almost 3 years later it failed a wof for an exhaust leak. Took the car back to them for repair as a muffler, exhaust pipe and weld should last longer then 3 years or 35,000km. Simon said I didn't own the business then not my problem. After a bit of back and forth he finally agreed to look at it and see what they could do. Brought the car to them on the agreed date (but a bit later then originally discussed and they where able to accommodate the later time). When I dropped the car off I said that it appeared to be leaking from a weld. Expecting the vehicle to be inspected and that I would be told if they would cover the cost or to be told how much the repair would be prior to any work being performed.Got a text a hour later saying that it was ready to be picked up. When I went to pick the car up I also received a $75.00 bill. Considering that Simon said they would have to see the vehicle and what needed to be done prior to saying what options there would be. A simple phone call from them saying what they found and that's they would not cover the cost of the small spot weld to fix the poor workmanship at the time of the installation of the exhaust system. At no point was I informed of any costs prior to the repair being completed and was surprised to get a bill for the repairs when the car was in to be inspected.Even his response is incorrect and the exhaust was completely replaced and he even said so when he looked at the information on his computer system. Providing good customer service is low on his list of priorities. Even making sure his response is factual is too much for him.Definitely wouldn't recommend Stuart Motors and will never use them again. There are many other shops that provide much better customer service than Stewart Motors does.
