Good service. Good pub. Might be my new local when I'm out in Goon.Went there this week and unfortunately the blue cod and chips were not very good. Beer batter was thick and chewy more than crispy. I asked for my chops to be extra crunchy which they weren't. Ordered side of lemon pepper squid too which came to us floury and lacking in taste. On a good note they re-did it for me but kind of spoilt my appetite by then. Thankfully the partner is a greedy guts

We were part of the Rangiora Wrestling Club which was having their annual dinner and prize giving. The staff at the Brook were so accommodating and everything went off smoothly. The meals all came out on time and were delicious, with a good variety and plated up imaginatively. The children were well catered for too. The waiting staff were so professional and coped easily with such a large number of people. A big thanks to everyone at the Brook for making our evening so memorable.

Ordered the large blue cod. Because I am a ceolac I cannot have chips as they are cooked in the same vat as the battered fish. I got 3 slices of potatoes and 3 pieces of fish for $36.00 and plenty of salad. The food was lovely. All the staff are great

Had the ribs inundated with a very sickly sauce and only about 4 ribs which for $37 I felt totally ripped off the only good thing was the salad. My husband had nachos which to say the least was below average not a lot sauce mainly cheese and sour cream we will not return and will definitely make our friends aware. Could not complain about the service our waitress was excellent as well as the bar staff

Had dinner here on Saturday 1st July great atmosphere and we had a lovely time out and the lovely lady that was waiting on us was awesome, it was just a little disappointing that I had frozen packet vegetables on my meal when I had paid $41really not enjoyable at all

Excellent service. Friendly and welcoming wait staff. Comfortable indoor seating at tables and booths. Good selection of beers including some great local craft beers.Food was good with a few of the usual favorites on offer. Good range of pizzas. Plenty of off-street parking.

My experience at the Brook Bar ,The Brook Bar : as we walked through the doors you could sense it is more of a public bar than restaurant (no partitions or separation between the two ) as we were seated the noise and atmosphere was pretty full on from the public bar side (probably not the right place if your after a slightly quite night to go for a meal.THE FOOD:The one thing that surprised me was presentation of food was simply outstanding (note to self take photo of plate lol )it looked like a 5 star restaurant but as the saying gose don't judge a book by its cover.........well let me tell you as good as it looked ,it tasted simply outstanding the two other people withme were saying the sameThe only issue is portion sizes portions need to be balance (nit picking really lol) but overall absolutely outstanding this is just my opinion best thing id say is go and visit the brook and experience for yourselfENJOY.....ps parking is an issue if the public bar is full
