Usually pretty good but was supposed to get mattress delivered yesterday Thay rang saying couldn't do till next day before 12.00 well as the time of this it's after that time and not here as I had to put the old mattress out side I'm needing it r a good night sleep

Love visiting this place. One of the owners was pretty kind and sold me ( a poor student) a wooden bed frame and mattress set for under $200, though it was worth a lot more. The owners are always friendly ... hands down best antique store in dunedin.

I visited this store yesterday for the first time - I’m not from Dunedin and was looking at buying furniture for my daughters new place. I was with my daughter,sister and niece we were just wandering around when this tall guy who works there asked us for the second time had we signed in - he was behind the counter serving other customers and another guy was behind the counter with him. I told him we had signed in however it was our responsibility if we signed in and as a business it was his responsibility to display the COVID tracer. He then proceeded to come from around the counter and started yelling at me in my face in front of everyone and told me to get out of his shop that he didn’t need people like me in his shop his anger level went from 0 to 100 in seconds - he then threatened to call the police so I told him to call them he then continued to keep yelling and telling me to get out of the shop. I have never had any kind of altercation like this before it was very upsetting experience and extremely unnecessary and I would warn anyone to give this shop a wide berth and go down the road to the other second hand traders.You are an extremely rude and obnoxious man

We visited the shop many many times while we were living down in Dunedin. Neville and Karen are really nice people. However one staff member who works there his name is Keith. He is really rude to the customers. And he is not nice to the customers when Neville is out in truck and Keith and Karen are minding the shop. Don't expect to call the shop because Keith will always answer the phone and is very rude to people when he answers the calls. So I am just reminding everyone. Only pop into Arkright Traders when Neville and Karen the shop owners are there. Because Keith cannot be trusted to be left alone to mind the shop on his own because of the current girlfriend he has right now who happens to be my husband and Keith's brother's ex girlfriend. Her name is Tara Letitia Milne. And Tara is another one who cannot be trusted either. Because isn't meant to be anywhere near Arkright Traders but Keith waits until Neville is out in truck and then he lets someone who nobody likes into a shop he only works in. Inside there. Do not have anything to do with Tara Letitia Milne if you ever see her on the streets of Dunedin or South Dunedin. Tara is meant to be working over at Cargill Enterprises but instead she makes up some excuse to go outside. That same excuse that being to walk over to Arkright Traders to see Keith. But only to make sure that Neville's truck or four wheel drive vehicle is parked outside the door of the shop. So Neville mate. Just wanting to let you and Karen know what Keith has been up to when you two are not there. Seriously Neville and Karen. Should seriously consider thinking about having Tara Letitia Milne trespassed and barred from coming or going anywhere near or inside Arkright Traders. Or if she breaks the rules of the trespass warrant(or trespass order) or goes against her being barred by you and Karen. You and Karen have every right to call the police on Tara Letitia Milne and then you Neville. You and Karen have every right to have Keith fired from working for you and Karen and you have every right to to make sure that Keith isn't hired by any other shop. Which includes second hand antique shops. Neville. When or before you and Karen hired Keith there. Did you check his police check in the Dunedin police database for his complete criminal record check. Because people who find Keith can't be trusted seriously need you and Karen to do a complete police check on Keith's criminal record check. I actually found out so many things about Keith he has not been honest with you and Karen about. Please check out Keith's police criminal record check with the Dunedin police database. And you and Karen will be shocked to find out what Keith has been hiding away from his interview with you and Karen before you hired him to work there.

Nev has always been great to me. Browsed many times and collected number of furniture items over the years with their delivery drop off with cost. They have great variety of items and house hold electronics here.Keith on the other hand don’t seem to be friendly or interested, gives you scorned look when you happen to cross by him with No customer skills or exchange of greetings ,lacking knowledge and understanding of the stock what so ever, his presence is next to non-existent thereKeith is mostly not available to check with customers when Nev is away out of the store.Where as, Nev and Karen are wonderful and always helpful to direct you to the right direction and give you fair deals and some times negotiate pricesDespite everything else, All 5/5 stars given

Came here with my cousin we are both young, felt very uncomfortable by an older man. Unsure if he's the owner but will not be returning

Really really annoying that shops have advertised times but you turn up and its closed. Total waste of my timeIn reply to your response. What a ridiculous response and way to run a business. We don't live two minutes from your shop. You expect people just to turn up and see if your open, it doesn't say this online it says your open until 4.30.

Arkwright has been there for ages and they have some lovely old pieces. But the prices were too much for the items. And the person working spent too much time talking to us so we couldn't enjoy browsing. Still an interesting place to poke around in

Awesume secondhand store. Lots of antique type items as well as newer items. Friendly and helpful staff

I don't know if you really want to buy any stuff from this store, but definitely DON'T even try to sell anything to them, to ask them to buy your stuff, or to put price on them. You will be shocked! They tried to buy the very nice and tidy stuff we had (including sets of furniture, bed, dining table, etc.) for LESS than one third of the price we COULD EASILY get when we put them in Hayward's Auction (and consider that, in Hayward's Auction, everything is sold for a lot lesser than their actual prices and they take 20% commission plus pick up fee). Just think what this means! Moreover, we faced very rude and annoying behavior of the guy came to our home to view and buy the stuff; he did whatever he could just to put pressure on us, perhaps because we just looked desperate to him, that they are our last chance, that we cannot sell our stuff anywhere else but to them!!!
