I have trained in and been to alot of martial art clubs around northland and Auckland and found it very differcult to find anything that comes close to the high quality of teaching the basics through to advance that is put into this club.

I am a proud dad who was a shorty as a child and suffered school bullying in the past. I didn’t want my son to suffer the same, being short for his age too, which is why we joined him up.My 11 yo son has thrived in his self defence, confidence, self discipline, strength, health and fitness under the incredible leadership and training skills of whom I believe is New Zealand’s best karate Instructor Sensei Craig Nordstrand. Craigs training and mentoring of the kids in his Dojo has already exceeded my expectations as my son has developed a hunger and passion for karate.I knew Craig had what it takes to create champions when my son started to come home with gold medals and trophies. We started my son started 5 years ago at the age of 6, and already he has reached his black belt white stripe, and is on his black belt probationary period.Craig’s passion, experience skill set and techniques to keep the kids focused and confident in their learning and skills is unlike any other.I highly recommend Craig and Myagi Kan Karate Whangarei to enrol your kids to if you want to see an amazing development in your own kids the way I have so happily seen in my own son Kyle.

I have two young boys who train under Craig and they absolutely love it.People of all ages, with a great club atmosphere under a Sensei that is a true expert in the art.I recommend to anyone.

Our boys started doing karate with Miyagi Kan when they were 4 & 6. They are not 8 and 10 and have learnt a lot in that time as well as developing fitness and having the opportunity to take part in fun camps and more serious camps and competitions. It is great for their confidence and the club offers the potential to progress to a really high level as it has a track record of students getting on the NZ team.

Sensei has passion to teach Karate. All trainers seem enjoying training very much here. Meaningful, and high leave. Not sloppy at all.

My Daughter 11years loves Karate with Sensei Craig. She has excelled so much in a year from white belt to green tip. My daughter has always been very active and Karate keeps her active focused and disaplined. I find the Karate kids and parents to be like one big family that are always there to help and support each other. Awesome environment for our kids.
