It's a supermarket. It's not the Taj Mahal or the Grand Canyon. You go there, you buy your groceries and you go home. It ain't Rocket Science!!!!

I felt so sad for the staff there as we all witnessed a lady shoplift and walk through the checkouts as if nothing is wrong with a duffle bag full of groceries no hesitation towards staff and walked out. It's crazy to think there's nothing you can do to stop them unless you put yourself at risk or assault charges, what can be done about it?

Small, which is nice, however minimal selection and very overpriced. Often lines take a while to get through checkout. Have stopped going unless I need one of two things as Pak n Save Wainoni is much cheaper.

It's another Countdown. You can always find the things you want and the app is superb. It's a bit smaller than the other Cristchurch Countdowns but there's still a good range.

Countdown in New Brighton have a great selection while shopping and at a reasonable value being a local helps as it is very close if need a few shopping items friendly staff and plenty of places to parkThank you :-)

I was disappointed that all the salad bag shelves were so full and squished together that the leaves were damaged. Less is more in this case. Dingy and small but it did the job.

This has been a local for years and as it is the only supermarket in the area its dissopointing. Lately I've noticed the price hikes are huge! The shelves are quite bare and the selection limited. Staff are nice and helpfull but I prefer to travel further away for a better selection.Such a shame.

I feel it is very misleading when eg Griffins choc biscuits are on special and you need to read the yellow ticket to which ones refer to each ticket. Rather than buy eg 2pkts of the range. Not good for the elderly with bad sight. Money making at the worst.

One star is one too many.Appalling customer service at the checkouts with large queues and very poorly trained check out staff.Ergonomic handling and a sense of urgency has not been taught to the staff with each item picked up twice, scanned once, then 3 steps to the bag which is not hung in its holder by the till but faraway, then 3 steps back to handle the next item twice before scanning. All done at a pedestrian pace.Come on Countdown. Train your staff instead of leaving them to take the heat from angry customers.
