Portobello Store-On The Spot

Just a small store but with an amazing variety of goods. Store was immaculate and staff member who served me was extremely helpful. An asset to the community.

I live about 5 km from this store and they are the friendliest nicest shop owners anywhere. Sure, as a small business owner they may have a surcharge on small credit card purchases so as to not lose money(some) in the transaction which would then have to be passed on to the customer in other ways. These great owners provide locals who live out here with near town prices which is amazing for the locals and more than fair when the benefits are taken into consideration.(of the surcharge) This is not the only reason they can pass on savings to us ,the local consumer or tourist alike,but through their own hard work and extra effort they do an incredible job. Thank you Portobello store.

Always surprised at how much stock and great variety can fit in to such a small space. Always leave there satisfied.

They charge for card payments, worst is they don't inform you in advance. When i declined and paid with cash, the cashier did not give me the correct change back..

This is my local store/deli. I LOVE it. Great variety of stock, always well stocked, fresh product, free range eggs, comprehensive dry stock, drinks, ice-cream...always up-to-date with different trends. NEEDS more cheeses and speciality breads. Prices are a bit high. I would purchase more here at a better price...only a little lower. The owner is community minded though he probably relies a lot on tourist market / seasonal This may well be reflected in pricing?? Staff are overall friendly.I like to support this business : )

It's nice, but thought it would be more of a country pub

No prices on anything. Can't be sure at all if you're going to be ripped off or not until you're at the counter. Friendly staff though.
