Great Fish n Chips!

Pie was almost cold

Honestly the worst fish and chips. Wish I had gone to the Chinese across the road. Overpriced, limited selection. His 'scoop' of chip fitted in a pie bag. I certainly was a little concerned when I heard the beep of a microwave out the back. Stay away !

Doesn’t look pretty but it’s a good chippy. Decent prices for chips ($3!!) and the burgers are hot and fresh, with fresh crispy lettuce and onion in them. Delicious!The place could use some ‘window dressing’ to make it more welcoming, perhaps some music, and maybe some aprons for the staff rather than a sorry looking grey t-shirt. There’s always something disconcerting about a chippy where you can’t see the kitchen!Greeting customers with a cheery hello when they walk in means they are more likely to stay and order than if you don’t say anything and just stand there! ☺️The eat in section is nicely decorated if you like the rustic vibe and lots of wood. Nice carpet which is unusual in a chippy.Finally, it would be nice if they provided at least one napkin when someone orders squid rings or a burger.

Halerious. Good points: good location. Needs improvement: 1. it was so smokey inside that I kept coughing and my wife got a sore throat. Solution: use a fan dude you gonna die young. 2. It was so cold I wished I bought my gloves. But then I wouldn't of been able to eat my burger. Ended up taking to the hotel to eat, too cold. Solution: turn that heater on. You trying to save money? It was just sitting there off and it was FREEZING. 3. No veges on the burger. Solution: it needs beetroot. Seriously you look like a local and you don't know that you should put beetroot on burgers in this country?Good luck with your business. Just needs a few tweeks.And maybe up the portion sizes. That was not a scoop.

I've never been in a restaurant in NZ where such an unbelievable unfriendly guy is serving food. Why is he working in a restaurant when he doesn't wants to be friendly to the guests?! The food was not more than ok.The city was crowded but we were the only ones in these restaurant... never again

Ok coffee to go

It was good to have a snak 11pm in this area. we took it away and enjoy with wine. homemade fish, crispy and yammy. very much enjoyed at only 6$ ! :-)
