Mornington Golf Club

Formerly the Berhampore Bowling club. First Friday nights are community dinner nights. Membership of $60 per year is encouraged but not essential. Free greens to play golf on or practice your skills. Members can use the mats & balls as part of their membership or use the facilities.

This must be one of the hardest courses to play on the planet, but fantastic value and a very worthwhile achievement if you can get round the full 18. No buggies/carts allowed because of the vertiginous fairways so it's a tough, tough slog if you're pulling or pushing a trolley. I'm a half-decent player off 8.8 but it's a huge challenge and I was pleased with an 82 gross on a par 66 course. Hired some clubs off the very helpful general manager, Ron Fairbairn, who it transpires is 83 and plays twice a week, for a remarkably reasonable 40 NZ dollars all in for the round and hire. Like I said, it's bloody tough but what a true test of golf. Ron will open the bar after as well. Thanks for the experience! Only reason I've deducted a star was because they didn't provide oxygen!!

The walk is a hilly challenge, could use distance markers but for $20 it's hard to argue

Friendly golf club with disc golf and bowls too. Food here is great too!

Very friendly help at the club rooms, gave us some balls. Course is pretty tight and hilly but maintained. Enjoyed it!
