Greymouth isite Visitor Information Centre

Cancelled on me 48 hours prior to my tour. And only because I wrote to check on the status. Already in Christchurch. Train to Greymouth already paid for, Hotel in Greymouth already reserved. But no nothing to do while in Greymouth - and no suggestions or alternate day trips suggested by West Coast Travel. Very disappointed in such poor customer service and relations.

Un-accountable and inept staff, particularly a director of the company, PHILLIP BARNETT, who ceased communicating with me while trying to resolve the issue. I had a very bad experience with the booking company and the Greymouth i-Site. I purchased a return trip voucher through Groupon. 2 weeks before the journey, I was called by the Greymouth I-Site to confirm the trip. I travelled to Greymouth on Saturday. I turned up at the I-Site on Sunday for the return trip. When I went to check in, the person working didn't even look at me and just said there's no train today". I went on to explain that I-site had made the booking. I asked what they were going to do about it and the person stuck their head out the door

Immediately after getting off the Tranz Alpine train, Kelly at the i-Site visitor desk helped us book a full day tour with Explore West Coast for the next day. We didn’t have cellular service so she called and confirmed availability and sent emails to us confirming the details. When we were checking in for the train ride back Kelly even remembered our name from several days earlier. This was a great help and highly recommend stopping in to have a chat at the desk. Friendly, helpful and welcoming people

Popped in here a couple of times as the street signs are so confusing in Greymouth. Staff were super helpful and friendly, knew where everything was and answered all my questions. Told me about a freedom camping spot that wasn't even on the app. Only suggestion is that they recommend showers at the rec center as they are very good.

Very busy between 10am-2pm to manage check-in for 2:05 TranzAlpine train to Christchurch and the arrival and baggage collection of the TranzAlpine from Christchurch at 1:05pm.Check-in was simply and baggage can be checked in from 10am.A well stocked and extensive range of NZ and West Coast souvenirs at reasonable prices; eg:2 original brand tshirts for $20 is very good value.Conveniently, the car rental companies operate out of this location.The staff were very helpful and efficient during this busy time.

My husband & I were abandoned by our camper car hire company (Jucy) in Greymouth, when our car broke down while passing through the town, and the wonderful lady at your information centre helped us book a bus to Christchurch. She was extremely professional, helpful and pleasant and we would like to say a BIG ‘Thank you’ to her (I’m sorry, but because of our confusion at the time we cannot remember her name). We will never forget your kindness in our time of need.

We got off the Train from Christchurch and it stops at the I site Visitor centre.They were very busy but we obtained the maps and info we needed for three day say. Helpful friendly staff.
