The Refinery has a nice vibe to it and food is great however coffee sizes are on the extremely small size. Their large is a regular size everywhere else, regular is a small and small is almost fluffy size. For this reason we wouldn't return. Coffee is one of the main reasons we go to cafes so expect a bit more value for our money.

Delicious food, prompt and polite service, during a busy, wet Saturday lunch service. Family- friendly atmosphere. Worth the stop !

Lovely, sophisticated space that is a must-visit if staying or passing by Paeroa. We had breakfast in the garden and the overall vibe was great with birds, flowers and other guests deeply enjoying the space. Food was great as well (would recommend the veg frittata).

Great space, and the decor and ambience are superb, especially if you are a fan of the 1970s. The coffee was very good and the cakes were probably very bad for my health but tasted amazing. Nice staff, good menu without too much excitement and the pictures on the walls are enough to keep you busy whole waiting. Ever so slightly out the way but worth the detour.

Coffee, food and service fantastic. Funky decor and ambience. I'm a fan.Edit.....second visit... This place is the perfect cafe. Everything we ate both times was delicious....quiche was fantastic... Cakes were great. The bacon n egg brioche roll is the best I've ever had. Love this cafe.

Wonderful selection of great fresh food. Salads options were tasty and baked goods divine. Reworked large space that does not feel cavernous. Nice outdoor seating area. Interesting building history. Well worth stopping if in town or passing by on your bike.
