Rick is an enthusiastic and patient teacher, and tailors his lessons to the individual student.My son started weekly lessons with Rick in primary school and continued until he left Auckland to attend University. Rick has given him a lifelong gift with his enjoyment of playing the guitar.I especially appreciate the effort he takes to record his students pieces which become a wonderful memento of their childhood.

Rick's guitar lessons were excellent! I started as a complete beginner and even after a few lessons, I was able to grasp an understanding of guitar playing, I had learnt multiple chords, as well as a whole bunch of songs! They way he taught was easy to understand, which really helped me progress quickly and to become confident at playing after a few months. I would highly recommend rick as a guitar tutor to a person of any age!

Rick has taught all three of my kids. They love going to their lessons. He pitches teaching at their level and makes it fun. They get a magic feeling of playing with others as Rick will often play along with them as they build their skill levels. I recommend Rick without hesitation and thank him for instilling a love of music in my kids.

Highly recommend Rick Poole for any level of guitar lessons. Rick is patient, friendly and makes learning easy and enjoyable. Everything is provided and you just need to show up with a clearfile and guitar ready to go. My playing improved rapidly compared to self teaching and Rick laid out lots of tips and workouts to practice between lessons. Rick makes theory less daunting and teaches to your level of understanding - truly a perfect teacher for young or old!

My son has been learning guitar with Rick for over a year, he had no any experience with guitar previously, so it was the first time he was learning guitar. Rick was very good at establishing the basics of playing guitar, picking out areas that needed to be improved on that would otherwise remain as a bad habit. Rick is specialized in teaching the picking" style of guitar

I had guitar lessons with Rick for about 3 years, as an adult student. He is an excellent teacher. He is very patient and his passion and interest in music really shines through. He is very genuine and has a great sense of humour. He really makes an effort to find out the music you like, so you are learning and playing the music that you enjoy, this definitely adds to the experience as a student.

My daughter loves Rick's lesson and enjoy the lesson all the time. Rick is a smart and sensational teacher as he is teaching skills by going through pop or classic songs rather than teaching purely boring skill. My daughter is so happy now because she has been capable of doing at least ten songs of Taylor Swift. So highly recommended.
