I had a wonderful experience here. The staff are so kind and lovely, and clearly very aware that most of their customers are going through a stressful experience. They were always willing to chat on the phone at any time about how our cat was doing, and were super kind when we came in. Also they run on time (which is tricky for emergency services!) and we were never kept waiting. A warning that this is an emergency service so the cost was high - but we expected this. Thank you for saving our baby!

Absolutely no empathy for our family dog who cut an artery and was bleeding out. Quoted an insane amount and wouldn’t preform surgery without payment first. Terrible service and uncaring staff. Do NOT recommend taking your beloved pets here.

I recently had my mini Schnauzer, Maisy, cared for by this clinic. They were all so kind to her and I was updated regularly throughout her stay there. The vet I had the most contact with, Jaimie, was outstanding in the level of care she gave Maisy. Can’t recommend everyone at North Shore Emergency & Critical Care highly enough!

Vet and one of the nurse is ver professional and good, the reason I am giving this lower rate is for the receptionist, I have called earlier and being advised I can book time at 9 pm to bring my dog but she took no details from me at all, when I asked if i need to leave details, she said they will take the details when i come, i dont know what kind of booking will be like this. So after I arrived, the receptionist of course will ask me repeat the details again for my dog, and she apparently dont think my dog need urgent care so unwilling to take us in until the other nurse is nodding to her. I would think she should have seen the dog first rather than asking just owner described the symptoms. The whole waiting time i was sitting there there is no word with us, later when i spoke to vet we then found out, our name spelt wrong, address wrong, email address are totally incorrect, what do we expect we can be contacted if its all wrong? If its not clear on form, maybe you should ask? Overall I appreciate for the Vet and nurse excellent service but its a very odd experience with the initial contact at reception, please be professional and have sympathy with every pet come in regardless if they fit your criteria!

Very empathic and professional. Have taken my rabbits to them on a couple of occasions. Always seen to promptly, and as rabbit are exotics if the condition is unusual are always honest with the limitations and have great advice and recommendations for more niche referrals. Fantastic clinic, highly recommended.

The most disgusting service I have ever come across!Our puppy fell ill yesterday evening (Weds 2nd Nov), he had vomited and then was unable to stand by himself and kept collapsing so we immediately rushed him to this vet as it’s close to home. However once arrive the receptionist had made very rude and hurtful assumptions out loud. She then went on to refuse our puppy any kind of consultation or help unless paid for upfront.. the vet himself offered to take a look at him, but then continued to say there was nothing they could without payment first. Our puppy was brought home as there was nothing else we could do at 9pm at night. We then found another vet in Albany called Animal Referral Centre, contacted them and they were concerned and told us to take him in immediately.. they did everything they could in terms of a check up where some of the results came back abnormal like his temperature and heart rate, tests and some medication then told us what we needed to do at home.. our puppy was taken to the Animal Referral Centre this morning for a follow up and has now been in the animal hospital all day (Thurs 3rd Nov). We know vet fees are expensive, however the fact that you would rather see the money before even making sure its not serious and saving a life is horrific! You don’t walk into the doctors or the hospital and told you have to pay before anything so why is this vet like this? We will never go here again or recommend it to anyone!

Very sadly my two small animals were struck with sudden illness, so I had to bring them to this clinic to be seen. The vets were extremely respectful, whilst still being honest and upfront about everything that was going on. Due to their conditions, the animals had to be put down, and the team were very kind and respectful during the entire process. The service was reasonably priced for an after-hours emergency clinic, and I would have paid much more given the great service I received. Many thanks to the team.

Thank you to the team for being so patient and caring, both of our puppies had gotten into something that had washed into the back yard after the floods and in the space of a week had severe allergic reactions. The receptionist and the vet were both awesome, calm and caring and really took their time to make sure we were all ok and dogs were comfortable. Awesome service.

Amazing team... a big thank you to Sarah, the person I first spoke to on the phone, then Lynda who was also so kind and patient to hear me through when my pet fell sick during the Easter weekend. Decided to take Ellie to them and there I met the very caring Doctors, Sean, Rhys, and a regular morning update from Jamie. My girl is back to normal now. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work.

Have unfortunately needed to use their services twice in the last 12 months because my cat likes to time things for long weekends! Each time everyone was so lovely and the vet thoroughly explained things to me. First time was for a fever of unknown cause which required an over night stay, they called to update me every few hours and took good care of him. The second time was within 12hrs of having a bite wound on his leg to the point where his leg was a literally trunk and he wouldn't put it on the ground, they saw him within 3hrs of me calling, gave him an antibiotic injection and pain killer injection and I kid you not he was back to being an annoying pest within 2 hours. The only downside is you need to pay then and there but we put it on the credit card and wait for our insurance to reimburse us so it's not too big of a deal.
