NV Hair & Make-up

Recommend NV to everyone! I've been coming to NV for the last 15 years. Hairdressers consult, recommend and administer an amazing haircut. All with superb care and helpful advice. Have had super short hair, in between and now long. A great friendly place. Many thanks to Nicky and Nicola.

My sister and I went to get our hair and makeup done for our one and only school ball and were slightly disappointed with the outcome. Was a handy location for us and a good cosy set up in private garage.No heat protector or any products were used on hair before heat styling. The owner and her friend appeared perhaps in a rush? Nothing was really talked through before hand.In my opinion when you ask someone if they like what you have done/ doing and feedback is given you shouldn’t get offended because why ask in the first place if you don’t even care to fix or adjust something to how your client wants it.Will agree with previous comments there are small dogs in the salon where at times owner pays more attention to them than the client at hand. My sister doesn’t really like dogs and an offer to put them out of the room would have been nice or at least contained in a play pen.To have a jellybean snack break is all good just don’t chew with your mouth open in someone’s face when doing their makeup, yuck.The owners ‘Friend’ started my makeup without matching my skin tone first I ended up orange and this had to be taken off & started again when I pointed out. I then lost all confidence in these “Trained professionals”the owner seems better at makeup and the friend better at hair why didn’t they just switch us over I don’t know.Owner is very into astrology, star signs, what our personality’s were and not much else.The owner wanted us to have ideas for makeup but whenever we did show pictures or say what we wanted she said that wouldn’t look good and to just trust her to do whatever.I had pre explained to her that I had Auburn hair and would quite like brown mascara she said that was all good but low in behold only black it was on the dayDon’t be like me and think the last bad review was 3yrs ago and surely it’s changed, it hasn’t.All round communication and tone of voice needs to be improved wouldn’t call this professional at all won’t be recommending frankly just a waste of time and money.

Had my hair cut on a whim today as a walk in just because I saw the sign whilst out shopping. Had been thinking of going shorter for a while but with very curly hair I've always had bad experiences with hairdressers not allowing for the curl and cutting too short even when I explain to them.For the first time in my 39 years of life my hair was cut to exactly the length I wanted. I've never been so happy. Also the condioning and curl products she used have made it like frizz free silk, definitely buying some and definitely not going to any other salon again.

I received very prompt service from a lovely stylist who did a great job. I had a shampoo and blow wave and it looks fabulous. The little dog is so quiet and cute. Such a lovely addition to the friendliness of the salon.

Best hair experience ever! I came in initially for a fix up.I was seen immediately. I really feel as if Nicky cares about my hair and my satisfaction as a customer. Completely professional, friendly and honest.I have found my hair home!!Always special love and welcome from salon puppy! There's something therapeutic about cuddling a dog while getting your hair done.I cannot recommend highly enough!

horrible experience here. My hair looked like the owners unkept uncontrolled animals when she was done.

Nicki does a fantastic job of both cutting and colouring my hair. She always takes the time to listen carefully to what I want done and I am always happy with the result. Last year I was quite distraught when my hair began falling out but once I got started on the Dancoly activating shampoo and serum(wonderful hair brand) Nicki recommended, my big thick mane of hair came back. As for the dogs they are so cute that they are worth an actual star on their own!

Awful lady who allowed her dogs to roam, and when asked to put her dogs on leads due to a number of scared children, she refused and mocked the children, while calling their mother names. Wow.

I have had Nicky cut and style my hair for a few years now and have always been super impressed with the cut and advice she gives me to keep my hair looking good. Love going to N V Hair as both stylists are very experienced and helpful.
