Amp'd Careers

Sam attended a two day Amp'd After school career Bootcamp in December straight after he finished his Level 2 NCEA exams. He found the whole experience really insightful as he felt that he hadn't given much thought to what he would like to do at the end of Year 13. The After School career programme helped him map out various career pathways and really got him thinking about the next stage in a structured but fun way. He loved the group dynamics of the 2 days and found Suzie and Sharon so enthusiastic and they provided so many real-life stories and experiences. The second day of the Bootcamp entailed having various Industry specialists come in an talk about their own careers and the pathways that led them to where they were. Sam loved this day in particular and enjoyed asking lots of questions. The whole experience has got Sam thinking in a more structured way about where to next and he feels like he has a great framework going forward. Thanks so much Suzie and Sharon for running such a great course :-)

Sharon and Suzie deliver a fantastic learning experience which resonates and endures. They'll help you sort out your priorities, explore your options and yes, even go a little crazy. Their passion is infectious!

Firstly, Sharon is a good human. Second, she supported me in creating a powerful resume by asking the right questions and using great techniques to think differently about how I approach my next career move. Also, having a general chat about all things was informative and educational especially when it came to HR management. I would recommend Sharon if you are looking at how to sell your career experience and think about whats next.

Our son Zac attended the two day Amp'd After School Career Bootcamp last December at the end of Y12. It was such a wonderful, insightful experience for a kid who at the time was extremely anxious and bewildered about starting his last year of school with no idea what he wanted to do after. The course helped Zac recognise his strengths and passions and gave him clarity that lead him to change his course subjects for Y13 and started to form some thoughts about career paths that could be exciting and meaningful for him. He is now coming to the end of Y13 and has decided to take a GAP year next year with hopefully some travel and then apply for university the year after. He still mentions the Amp'd course and content as we continue to discuss potential options for him for 2023.

My 17yr old daughter completed this course and she found it incredibly beneficial. Suzie and Sharon skills and knowledge guided her in the right direction for choosing her career path. Now she has a clear idea of what she wants to do and is so motivated to get to where she wants to go. After experiencing redundancy and not knowing what was next for me....perfect timing accepted for the pilot AMP'd course. Having the guidance from Suzie and Sharon, along with a fabulous group of people, most in a similar situation to me, but from very different career backgrounds, helped guide me through that time of uncertainty, by the end I had a direction of where I wanted my career to go..and happy to report I am working fulltime working towards my career goal!

Our son is due to leave home this week off to Canterbury University to study Engineering. A very exciting time for him. His decision to choose this path is largely due to him attending Next: After School Program. At the start of Year 13 he was very unsure what the next step would be at the end of school, nor did he want to discuss it with us!! We were delighted to discover Next: After School Program. Sharon and Suzie are genius, with a real gift for communication. The course won't tell you what career to embark on, but more importantly it will teach the kids the right questions to ask themselves, and the tools to work through the process themselves. Bravo!! We highly highly recommend Next: After School and will definitely send our 2 other children along too.

I am really grateful for the guidance and experience the amp’d team have. It’s not only a way to pivot in your career and work out what your next move is. It’s also a great way to learn more about what motivates you/ spins your wheels and honing in on the best way to articulate that for future employment. Highly recommend

Sharon was absolutely fantastic to work with and really challenged me to drill down and think about my passion and what drives me and how that corresponds to my career choices. Having worked with Sharon I gained a clear understanding of what I was looking for in my next role including 'must haves', 'nice to haves' and 'what to steer clear of'. We also worked on a major review and update of my CV. I would thoroughly recommend Amp'd to anyone.

Spending time with Sharon reviewing my career path helped me reconnect with strengths & skills & begin to re-imagine how these might be used in different contexts. This has been a valuable gift to myself.
