Utopia Cafe
The boss was so nice. We mistakenly ordered 2 waffles (with bacon) - as Muslims, we’re not allowed to eat bacon. We sent it back thinking it was our loss. The boss came to us saying the cook will cook our halal waffles and apologised to us for the long waiting time. She also gave us free large mocha while waiting. We did not expect this at all. Thank you so much for your kindness. You made our day!

This was EPIC breakfast. Highly recommended. A large portion of the Auckland chefs could take a leaf from this place. One chef.. who also does the best fish and chips at Captain Kunes! I had the scrambled eggs and bacon. It was outstanding. Even the coffee was bloody good. So pleased we stopped in Ohakune. Everyone is really friendly and it's a gem of a place! Thanks Utopia.. we will be back!

We got eggs on toast and two of our eggs were very over cooked and the other two were fine. We told the staff this and they seemed very disinterested and didn’t care - didn’t end up eating said eggs. Otherwise was nice and was good coffee. But very disappointing eggs and staff encounter

Too many travellers heading North or South stick to SH1 and consequently miss the golden opportunity for a wonderful journeys break that is Ohakune.So many treasures here, one of which is Utopia Cafe. Great service, fantastic food, and a wonderful atmosphere. You can almost park outside, but a walk after your visit around the town is quite an exploration.Both the cabinet food and the menu items have never disappointed.I'm confident that this recommendation will you equally impressed.Across the road is a small park and over a walk bridge is short bush walk beside a stream. The sound of water and birds makes for a restful stop.Well worth doing. Enjoy.

Excellent food, great service! Generous serving size, view of ice capped mountain from the upstairs seating area.We went in with 2 toddlers and ordered 1 hot chocolate. The toddlers didn’t want to share so I asked for an extra cup. The lady took it away, divided it into 2, and served it like two individual drinks with their pwn chocolate drizzle and marshmallows on the side! It made their day! Its the little things that count!

Great family atmosphere cafe, food is fantastic, service and hospitality is great. We dine as the other cafe is full, and I am not disappointed. The cheese poppers is so yummy, this place is highly recommended when you’re in Ohakune.

I am in love with this place. We stayed at a cottage nearby and couldn't help ourselves and visited a couple times. Best cheesecake EVER! The ambience is so warm and cozy and the staff are really kind. Such a wonderful business.
