Smiths Farm Holiday Park

What an incredible little place! I have ridden past a couple of times, and never really noticed it, but finally ended up staying recently. The owners are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and the site has really relaxed vibes.Especially loved the little bush walk, I have never seen so many glow worms!With the location making the Queen Charlotte walkway (And the sounds in general!) so accessible, I will definitely be coming back for a longer stay!

This is a farm and there are farm animals to talk to and give a treats including sheep, goats, and pigs. The folk that work there are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable and good Wi-Fi. Up behind the farm on Smiths Creek is a waterfall and there is a defined walking track to reach it. If you have gathered a few years under the belt allow an hour each way taking it easy. Its a steady uphill walk to the falls over farmland first and then through native bush. The last 10 meters is a bit of a challenge but there are ropes strung up to assist you. Once there the challenge is forgotten. Not a large volume of water comes over but very pretty with moss and fern covered rocks. This is a place to stay and enjoy slightly off mainstream tourism and for us paradise.

Perfect place to camp on a wintery evening. We were greeted with warm muffins and feed for the pigs, sheep and goats and given a little tour of the facilities which were excellent.Clean hot showers, washing machine and drier, kitchen which sofa, TV and best of all a log burner.The waterfall walk was lovely, just make sure to wear decent hiking boots or gum boots.We stayed in our van but the rooms looked very nice from what we saw.

Most lovely place! Warm muffins, food for the farm animals and a hidden track to a gloworm dwell.Only 3 for everyone which makes it a bit crowded.Super quiet and with very nice hosts.

Fantastic place! Owners are extremely nice and helpful, even treated us to warm muffins when we arrived.Kitchen, bathrooms and showers were very clean. We enjoyed feeding the animals on the farm and a hike in their fields and back yard" forest to see some glow worms."

Stayed here two nights with campervans. Felt very welcome, the place is quiet and the amenities clean and comfy. The gloworms are worth a look at night. Probably the best camping we stayed in on our trip around the island. Thanks!

Really nice Campsite. Very friendly owner. We arrived and got directly some welcome muffins and food for the loverly animals (pigs, sheeps and goats).Very clean toilets, showers and kitchen.Very much space to camp.All in all: we really can recommend this place.

This was our last campsite in the South Island and they gave us by far the warmest welcoming. Highly recommend. The 20m waterfall is definitely worth a trip and the animals were very entertaining. Also worth trying the local pub - Queen Charlotte Tavern for some tasty food!
