The Cardrona Horse Trekking & Quadbiking

The guides, one of them Blandine, were very friendly and ensured safety of all the quad bike riders. Tour was paced really well and the distance driven (we went up and up!) was suitable even for beginners. The steep terrain of the valley was daunting at first but you get used to it and at the peak, your eyes will be treated a to a beautiful view of the valley and adjacent mountains. What a sight to behold!

We’ve been twice since we discovered this place last year. If you want a view of the Cardrona Valley then see the staff. I don’t do horses so we take the quads. Tim and Kahu gave us a great trip this time round. If you have time try and get to the Roaring Meg cabin. Well recommended

Friendly and seasoned instructors. Our first time riding quad bikes and breath taking views. Highly recommend. They have terrains for different skills levels. We felt welcomed and taken cared of.

Ana was an amazing guide for our quad bike tour. She expertly led us through working farms, skillfully handling gates as we ventured across the landscape.During the two-hour ride, we enjoyed powerful 350hp quad bikes that were thrilling to ride. Although some mud splashed onto us, it dried quickly and was easily brushed off. It might be helpful to wear ski pants in the winter, even though Ana wore shorts. Merino or ski gloves are recommended as well, but the quad bike facility can provide some if needed.Conveniently, there are restrooms at the base of the tour. We had a fantastic time exploring Cardrona on quad bikes and were treated to breathtaking views from high vantage points, including the stunning snow-crowned peaks.

Pictures can't capture how amazing the views and experience was! Ana was our guide for the quad biking session, and she took some lovely pictures and videos for us along the track too. Our whole group included the quadbikes to be the top 3 moments during our New Zealand trip :) will definitely recommend it to others

Our guide Emily was fantastic throughout the from start till the end. The condition of the quad bikes were super and they were more than hardy enough for the type of riding we did on the tour. Emily made sure to give us rest stops along the way, providing some nuggets of information and more importantly photo opportunities :D The view at the top was mesmerising! Overall well worth the time and money, you gotta experience it for yourself.

I'd give 6 stars if I could. On the High Country Pub Trail ride, we walked, trotted, and cantered up into the hills, overlooking gorgeous panoramic views of the Cardrona Valley back toward Wanaka. Kelly brought local history to life with stories about gold mining and natural phenomena, and then we plunged ourselves into the olden days when we hitched our horses and went for a pint at the historic Cardrona Hotel. When it came to terrain and the pace of the riding, this experience was unparalleled in its offer of excitement and engagement. And I can't say enough how great Kelly was –– knowledgeable, professional, energetic, and she took amazing pictures!

The quad biking adventure was a totally worthwhile and fulfilling experience of Cardrona. Our guide, Laura was super helpful and knowledgeable of the local area and history of the valley. Quad bikes were comfortable and easy to use. Gorgeous views and a totally exhilarating experience.

We booked the Twilight Ride really spontaneously (like 2 hours in advance) and still Kelly made it possible for us. Although we had only little experience in horse back riding we felt safe all the way with Kelly being a great instructor, always making sure that we feel comfortable. She is energetic and her enthusiasm is contagious. The horses were easy to ride, well trained and looked healthy and happy, as if they were enjoying the ride as much as we did. During the slower parts of the ride she shared interesting facts about Cardrona and the place's history. The ride was awesome, the scenery was stunning and she also took photos during the ride at the most beautiful places. We crossed the river twice and were allowed to do some gallopping/cantering which was really fun! We were also impressed by the self-cooked food that the horses received at the end of the trip. Great location, great horses and a great guide, thanks for the wonderful experience!
