JUCY Car Rental and Campervan Hire Auckland Airport

The people at the shop were really nice but unfortunately both the condition of the van (cabana) and the quality of customer service on the road was terrible. Had two major incident during our three-week trip and for both we had to call them at least 3 times to get any support. For the first instance they sent us to an incompetent mechanic and made us take a detour of 4hrs to get the battery fixed and for the second one we had to finish our trip 72hrs early due to a non-working window. Stay away from this company if you have any other options.

Pro's:The folks who work at Jucy Auckland were absolutely phenomenal. The service we were provided to and from the airport, as well as picking up and dropping off the van was nothing short of amazing. I was a little surprised that the final walk-through was only for the outside of the vehicle. The interior of ours definitely had seen MANY trips, but got the job done and did what we needed.If you're looking for a spotless boujee van or RV, this is not the one you're looking for. Jucy offered an incredibly competitive rental rate compared to the rest of the market. We rented the Jucy Condo and it was a perfect size. Maneuverable, efficient, and has a small footprint. Our van did have high mileage and was rather old, but so what? Good luck finding a 2021 RV with low mileage for your road trip across New Zealand! We were fortunate to not experience any trouble on the road and had a smooth driving experience.Con's: Some things were missing that really impacted our trip. First, we rented 5 camping chairs from Jucy for our trip, two of which were broken when we took them out of the bag. The chairs were cheap, I would recommend checking yours before you hit the road.The next was the upper windows for the second bed. Both of them operated, but didn't quite lock, and neither of them had screens. This made it really difficult to use windows and keep bugs out. The seal on the door would randomly come off and you'd have to re-thread the whole thing. The chairs in the back are pretty stained. They're also horribly inefficient. The placement of them makes it so the folks in the back have to hunch over to see out the window. They'd be great for kids, but not for adults.Lastly, our ceiling fan just didn't open. No matter how hard you pushed the lever, it didn't move. Fortunately, the temps weren't too hot, but I imagine this wouldn't be fun in the summer months.My advice would be to do a thorough walkthrough of the interior of the van when you pick it up and be sure it's the one you want.With all of that being said, I'd rent from Jucy again and look forward to using them again in the future for the next NZ trip.

The state of the vehicle we received was awful. Multiple mechanical issues - a big one being no fluid in the radiator... a very stressful holiday ensued after receiving this.... even had to stop to take it to a mechanic after 4 phone calls with the unhelpful jucy staff that stated to us that we were on a callback list when in reality we were not....We are a bit luckier that we are kiwis but I feel sorry for whichever international person that is on the receiving end of a vehicle like this... time is limited as it is and having it intruded on by maintenance is pretty saddening...Would definitely not recommend. Avoid this company and their rentals at all costs.

+ staff was really nice and friendly (liked that everybody was funny and did not took life too serious)+ fast repair of the car (we had a little accident)+ free stuff from other campers for sharing+ transfer (but would be nice if there‘d be a sign at the airport to be sure that you’re waiting at the right spot)+ drop off in Queenstown was really easy and fast (Office also looked more modern)- old cars (ours had 370.000km and made strange engine-noises, also the check engine light lit up)- the staff didn’t explain much about how the car worked- had to buy our own usb plug + Aux-cable somewhere else (would be nice if we could have bought/lend it at the rental)- brochure said there was an usb port that worked over the second battery (never found that one, guess not all of them have it)- didn’t liked the way how the window-curtains worked (maybe velcro would be better, the buttons were annoying and some didn’t even work anymore)All in all it was ok, but pricy for the condition of the car (we booked the cabana)

My experience with Jucy was great! This is the second time we have hired a camper from Jucy and have enjoyed it both times!Such an easy camper to drive (we got the Condo) and I felt safe driving it even when the roads were not great or we were in Windy Gorges.It had everything we needed in it! Everything worked well.Great being able to have a free shuttle service to and from the airport.Can’t wait to pick a camper up from Jucy next year! A++! Definitely recommend.

Hired a small car which had lots of scratches and was pretty old but I'd always prefer that to a pristine new car. Ran very well. Staff really helpful and friendly at pick-up and drop-off (typical NZ). There was a toll charge on the car which I had actually paid (to the NZ govt online) but when I notified them they refunded the charge and admin fee. Good experience all round.

We were quit lucky because we got a new " jucy crib... at least the inside was ok and brought us safely from Auckland to Christchurch.Unfortunately our key broke inside the door (it's an old car with more then 400 000km)

Finally got service 100% after about an hour. Ensure vehicles are fully good to go on inspection. Initial vehicle had mechanical issues so another was made on offer. Had chips in window. Gave me time to get stress free insurance during the time I waited for vehicle I was happy to take. 3rd time lucky.

Second time renting a camper from Jucy, I love using their vehicles.Check in was a disaster, arrived on time, checked in, only to be told 30 minutes later that my vehicle had only just returned and I had to wait another 60 minutes.I left 90 minutes after my check in time, thats not ok.I asked the staff for the manager to ring me, no phone call.Maybe Jucy just don't care about their customers and feedback?Loved the campvan, they are so well decked out and are so easy to use. Pity about the service or I would of given 5 stars.
