About the Business
Homepage | Taikata Sailing Club | The Taikata Sailing club has a proud history operating from its current site. On the 28 October 1957, six centreboard yachts on trailers were towed down a narrow gravel country road, taken off the trailers on Chapman Road, carried over the mud and put into the shallow water to have the first race between a few friends. Through the ups and downs experienced by all sailing clubs, we continue to operate and engage in friendly competition.

A place where the water can be shared. Kayakers, rowers, sailors, fishermen, swimmers, sunbathers, walkers, and the bigger boats have to go by slowly to the harbour or ski lanes.

Also part of the Chapman Strand. Is a lovely place on the Peninsula to sit and watch the sunset. There is also a public toilet and a walking track around the point.
