I contacted Pelvic & Women's Health when a GP referral to my local hospital surgeons was unsuccessful .The condition I needed help with was bowel incontinence which was very alarming for me at the time.It still kept happening and knowing I was not eligible for assistance at my local hospital I contacted PWH after reading about the types of conditions they were equipped to deal with. They offered a free 20 minute consultation via phone which I took.Talking to Alice Taylor, the Physiotherapist at my local PWH clinic; Alice explained what she would undertake to: First diagnose the causeTreatment she could offer and Followup and support to remedy my problem.I followed her advice: I kept seven day records of times / description / nature of bowel movements plus carried out a regular exercise routine for muscle strengthening.Two weeks later, after analysis of my record of movements and further discussion of my symptoms, Alice was able to diagnose my underlying problem and suggested a remedy to control the incontinence.After 6 weeks I am very happy with the diagnosis and still follow the remedies she prescribed and have not had any further occurrences of my incontinence.Alice put me at ease when talking about my symptoms and I could tell her exactly what had been happening to me, which was embarrassing to talk about.I would definitely recommend seeking help from Pelvic and Womens' Health professionals and I thought the costs were reasonable.Linda TockerJustice of the PeaceBay of Plenty.23 June 2021.

I have had a great experience with Alice. Really happy with the advice and treatment plan she has set up for me. It is so much easier sticking with the excercise using the app. The contiform is really helpful- I used it on my morning run and was able to take 2 minutes off my usual time as I was not worried about leaks.
