Very cheap for lunch specials so if you're looking for some cheap and cheerful Cantonese food around this area then it's not bad. The food on the day we went was average and the servers were totally run off their feet - I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because it was a busy public holiday. Menu is good. Don't get the chicken laksa (it's not really laksa!)

One of my favorite places to eat in Auckland!Despite it's an old fashioned one with it's long history in the business there are so many goodies listing on the menu.Especially Cantonese hotpot, inexpensive but super delicious!Lunch special $8.8 you get a black pepper beef rice. It's cheap but don't worry it doesn't mean the quality goes down, tasty as it should be.See?!I even forgot to take pictures of the foods we ordered today.Anyway, just go and try you will definitely like it.

The place is small. Lunch time is madness and crowded. Need to go before 12.00 if you need a table to enjoy your food, once you ordered and need to add extra, sorry you will hv to wait in a queue for your turn and get your food after 10 mins. They are not like other cafe where you can order then have your food and pay when your finished. You pay as you ordered. The food is worth the money and we have this pork stomach soup very yummy and enough for 4 person to enjoy. Value for money.

Absolutely disgusting.The cooks were handling the food without gloves.They told our food be ready within 15-20 minutes. We went there after 30 minutes and still wasn’t ready. This in itself would not have made me write this. But the lady told us to wait outside the shop and not to disturb the other customers.

Their shop will definitely fool you, although their shop look a bit shabby, their food are yummy with generous portion and fairly priced. Their staff members also very friendly and helpful, though some of them understand chinese much better than english. Have hundreds of items in their menu though only small amount of photos of the dish are available; however, whatever you choose, more often than not you'll be satisfied.

Rating only ⭐⭐⭐ as the service wasn't so friendly. However, the portion/quantity they serve is definitely worth the price! The food is not very tasty or 100% authentic (but filling). The Chicken Laksa Noodle Soup wasn't tasting as good as I get from other restaurants in Auckland/CBD (yes, those restaurants charge more than double Sunrise Cafe price though).

Slightly on the pricier side. But the meat is fresh hand made. They claim to make their own soup base too.We had 2 flavours and it was not bad!
