I am a regular in this shop since I am an enthusiastic hack of a mountain biker with zero mechanical sympathy. I have always been looked after and am never left in the dark over any aspect of the work. Can recommend wholeheartedly.

Great bike shop. I contacted a number of other shops and none of them had the part I was looking for except for Basic Bikes. Thanks for helping me out with the brake hose bolts to keep me riding through the lock down and keep my sanity! Much appreciated. You will be my first port of call next time!

They charged a large amount of money after fixing my bike WITHOUT asking if I'd agree with the repairs cost. Also the amount charged was above the bikes' value, clearly they didn't apply any criteria.I don't recommend this place, as a customer everyone deserves clear information before undertaking a job.

Spent lots of time talking me through the issues, explained the process and offered different price solutions. Nice team who care and know about customer service. Job completed on time and to a high standard. Just pleased I've found a shop that do a good job without me thinking they are trying to rip me off. Will be more than happy to go back.

I went in to get a quote for taping a set of wheels. I was lead to believe it would be $10 per wheel for a total of $20. This sounded like a good deal but when I went to pay for the completed service I was told it would be $40. The technician wasn't clear about additional labor costs. However, the service was fast and the staff were friendly enough (I don't think it makes up for paying double). If I had understood the full cost I would have just bought a roll of tape and done it myself.

A great bike repair shop. I had multiple issues with my back wheel and brake and now it rides better than new! The staff where very knowledgable and got my bike up and running the same day at a fair price. They talked me through the process and couldnt be happier with the service. I would recommend to anyone with any bike issues. Thank you Basic Bikes

Great service, an excellent workshop and top notch work.I have used this shop for quite a few years, mainly for workshop services, like having a custom wheel built and servicing the suspension on my bike, as well as buying parts for the jobs I do at home.I'm always very happy with the work and I appreciate the honest and direct feedback that has been given when I've queried things.Highly recommended.

Some serious chips on one’s shoulder here! I asked them if it was possible to price match a different quote - which I though it wasn’t illegal or immoral - and that triggered a very rude reply from Ewen (the owner), continued with some silly arguments and ultimately, ended up in a complete refusal to service my bike!!! Very disappointing customer care!And now the ego strikes back! Nice one Ewen. All this time, instead of making some amends (apologising maybe?) you still try to show the world that YOU were right…Thanks God that not everyone is like you! I ultimately had my bike serviced and I ended up paying more than what you asked, which proves that I stand by my values.
