Slope Point Parking
The trees tell a great story and the day we were out there it definitely was blowing a near gale but we managed the walk to the most southern point of the South Island (Te Wai Ponamu). Quite spectacular views out there, somewhat high on the cliffs and the tide was in so not safe to follow the track down to the beach. Great part of anyone's bucket list to see.

Slope Point Parking
If you are around Catlins area, it's worth a detour to this southernmost point of the South Island. I n my opinion, the most interesting part of this area is the windswept trees, you will be amazing with the wonders of nature. However, there's no facility in this area, no toilet and the wind is extremely strong, do come prepared. The walk to the iconic sign post is about 20 minutes return, please respect the private land and the lambing season.

wow what a place. not far to walk from the car park. it was a wild day when we were there, got soaked from waves smashing against the cliffs and spraying high into the air, awesome ! well worth the drive out there. highly recommended
