Ace High Motor Inn

After a bad experience at another motel this was such an awesome find. The welcome was fantastic ..the room was great and pet friendly! I would definitely stay here again.A credit to the owners.

The room was meh, ok. I guess for the price.The woman who checked us in was quite rude and pushy after spending almost 20 minutes checking us in which was shocking. She did not even tell us what room we were staying in and once my mother asked for the room key extremely politely since the reception woman obviously forgot, she snapped “I’ve already given it to you!”, when she clearly did not.To my surprise, once I’d gotten ready to jump into bed I had discovered what appeared to be dried blood on an old pillow case I’m guessing was from the guests before us, so that was tossed aside. The cleaner obviously just slipped a new one on the pillow and hadn’t taken the old one off which was shocking.Will definitely not be returning and would not recommend.

Absolutely the WORST experience ever and DO NOT recommend!!We booked this motel through Hotels.com a few months ago, but the motel owner cancelled our booking on the day we arrived at the property! He cancelled our booking without informing either Hotels.com or us. Imagine that you have spent a long day driving and travelling, and when you arrived at this place, the owner said there was no place for you to rest or sleep. How disappointing!He said he had called us in the afternoon, but we spent the whole afternoon in the Splash Planet and couldn’t pick up the phone calls in time. This makes no sense to cancel bookings just because people didn’t pick up phone calls on the day of arrival, especially when we already gave out our credit card details in advance and received confirmation letter of the reservation.They knew our credit cards details and they would certainly charge us for at least one night if we cancel it from our side. But there is nothing we could do when they cancelled our booking on the day we arrived. This is so unfair to us.The motel owner was really rude, and the customer service is absolutely disgusting. It is totally his fault that he should not cancel our booking and give the room to other people just because we couldn’t pick up his calls on the day of arrival.Hotels.com has also failed in overseeing the motels or the whole process. Hotels.com even sent us confirmation emails of checking-in and emailed us to provide a review. This is just ridiculous because we did not even live in the motel. There was the six60 concert at that night and all the accommodation in Napier and Hasting were fully booked. We ended up calling Hotels.com and talking with some useless agents until midnight. We were so desperate and five of us had to sleep in a small car on the street by the police station for one night.

Room was nice and comfortable; slept well. had a lovely spa bath. No noise from other rooms and no road noise. Provided soap; hand cream, make up remover, 2 rolls of toilet paper. Maureen and Francis were very welcoming; talkative with genuine smiles. Will definitely stay again. Very affordable. The cooked breakfast was huge and reasonably priced.

Stayed for one night with my husband and our 4 boys and we really enjoyed it. The pool was great and the owners were lovely and friendly. Also the gorgeous ginger cat that I am guessing is the owners cat was a lovely surprise too (massive animal lover here lol). Will be back again.. Thankyou

Great couple that run the place and along side them is there caring supervisor and cleaners if in need of something they will help.

Nice clean accommodation. Comfortable beds and good size room. We were 2 adults 2 children in a unit with 2 bedrooms. Bedrooms had king size beds (2 singles pushed together) and 2 single beds in the Lounge. Would happily stay here again.

Room was horrendously smelly. Shower kept falling off the wall. Towels were a dirty Grey instead of white. No extraction fan in the bathroom. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Beds were old ..way past replacement stage meaning we all had a terrible sleep.All of the window hinges were broken or in dire need of repair. At $175 per night it is way over priced.

Great location, room very tidy and comfy. A big thanks to Ace High Hosts - very friendly and warm. Definitely stay again and recommend to every one looking for a motel in Napier.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities affordable. Comfortable beds. Pool clean. Cleaners did a great job with room. Location handy to everywhere we needed to go.
