Waipara Springs Winery and Restaurant

Lunch for a birthday, we went with high hopes and weren't disappointed. Bread board, followed by the beautifully cooked steak and then the best chocolate mousse I've had. Everything was plated with care and literally looked good enough to eat. Fantastic wait staff and they had a great singer in the background. Highly recommended, definitely ho.

Customer service, not the best on the day. Felt embarrassed and belittled, with my friend wanting to leave immediately. We cycled along the trail. As we walked in, walking our bikes in along the edge of the grass to place against the wine barrels, we were yelled at from the reception area, to take the bikes off the grass and put them outside against the fence. It had been raining. No obvious bike racks. Everyone looking at us. Next faux pas, was not to have a reservation. I said we hadn't made a booking and could we be fitted in. No greeting no response other than to pick up menus and 'follow me, did mention the step down.Great food menu. Food was first class. Presentation outstanding. Taste was incredible. Paired with the nominated wine. Both agreed the food was delicious but my friend not so keen on returning, due to arrival greeting.

I recently organised a group lunch for our car club. As we were a large group we had to order from a set menu. My only frustration was that we all had to have the same option - so either all order entree/main or all order main/dessert. However, after speaking to the very helpful staff (particularly Tania), who was able to offer some other options, we selected the 3-course lunch menu and I am so pleased we did. The food was amazing - the platters were large and had a great variety of cheeses, meats and spreads (we struggled to finish them). The mains and desserts were also enjoyed by all. The communication from the winery prior to our booking was excellent. Thanks also to Leeann who was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Despite arriving without a booking we were ushered through to a shady spot under a tree on the side lawn. A choice of 4 platters to share made easy once we chose the sauvignon.Fresh, tasty and artfully presented, it was a perfect summer lunch for two.Had the delight of live music so seriously considered parking up the motor home for the rest of the day! Will definitely be back.

A beautiful set up with wonderful staff! Extremely lovely range of wine that is super palatable! You can definitely tell there is a high regard for and a strong passion that goes into the wine making and into the hospitality! The food was divine! Well worth a visit! Lauren does an absolute cracker of a job with her wine tasting presentation!

Service, foods, wines, atmosphere, everything was amazing.All the source of foods were match perfectly with foods, especially loved how the seafood platter wasn't fishy at all and also the steak cooked very well with Medium Rare.Definitely will visit again with my family.

Amazing! Some of the best customer service I’ve ever had in NZ! Food was lovely - seafood platter was good value and beautifully presented! Tried a couple of their gins and they were beautifully refreshing. Setting was stunning and they also had a live musician playing who was extremely talented.

Fabulous place to visit and dine. The food was amazing and the staff do a fabulous job of welcoming and catering for your needs. We went with a party of 30 people in classic cars and everyone loved the food, wine and atmosphere.
