Woodlands Motels and Apartments

I would NOT recommend this property at all. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and the state of our bathroom. We were well aware of the older units and specially asked for a premium one for our booking. Prices were hiked up substantially to $277 per night due to concert in Dunedin. Our bathroom was disgusting. Thick dust/lint on the bathroom heater, toilet leaking, black mould in the sealant around the bathroom sink, lots of black mould on the toilet ceiling, electric blanket didn't work, a tiger toilet brush holder sittting on the boundary fence line. I approached reception and i think the maintenance man has fixed the leaking toilet" when we complained. They offered $80 refund for 1 night and after going back and forth we received a $97.50 refund. Last week I emailed our concerns of the very neglected bathroom/toilet

My brother from Wellington stayed here for 5 days. The motel rooms are really nice and value for money. My brother was totally impressed. I'd highly recommend Woodlands Motel and Apartments AAA+++

a very good place for the price. Plenty of room for a family. Lots of loud noise from the pub across the street. Free laundry! Poor internet.

Size of room was fantastic as was the location. However the room had a strange smell when we first checked in which was a bit unpleasant.

Absolutely disgusting, would NEVER stay or recommend this place to anyone, shouldn’t be allowed to operate with some of the conditions of the building. All electrical gear was over 8 years overdue for a check. Must and mould. Stairs and handrails rotting. If you’re asthmatic RUN.

Are you looking to relive your 90s university days or experince a genuine scarfie flatting accommodation?Then this is the motel for you.Features of our room included:Black mould in the bathroom due to a lack of maintenance and ventilation and rotting woodwork.Poorly designed kitchen with missing cupboard doors and a fridge plonked in the middle of the floor.3 different carpets in varying states of disrepair.Holes in walls, plaster falling off, paint peeling everywhere, loose walls and patched up holes.Two dilapidated cars in the carpark. Great views of the neighboring student flats due to missing fences, a highlight was watching the neighbor emptying the water from his bong in the morning.Old Scope and fan heaters for warmth, no A/C.Uncomfortable beds.A realistic student experience but much lacking in comfort and could really do with some TLC.Not recommend off our experience

We loved our stay here. Well appointed and attention to detail. Best accommodation during our South Island trip. So comfortable. Even a newspaper at the door next morning. We didn't want to leave. Kind owner. We want to come back first opportunity. Lana and Warren, Tauranga

We, a family of 3, stayed one night on our way through to central Otago. Obviously we can only comment on the room we were in, but we were so happy with it! Bottom level, separate bedroom, huge bathroom, full kitchen that was fully equipped. Clean, quiet, beautiful garden outside. Would definitely stay here again; very pleased.

Picked our keys up from the desk. Had to call them to ask about free wifi, they didnt give details on arrival and again had to ask about how to access the laundry room. No info in the room that says about this. The shower was very poor, the pressure was shocking, couldn't even wash my hair. Other than that it was okay. Unless the pressure on shower was to improve I wouldn't use them again.
