The Lazy Cow Accommodation
My self and a friend stayed overnight at the Lazy Cow. A stop over on our way North. Two Comfortable rooms. We were greeted like friends on our arrival. pLUS TO SHARE, a large equated kitchen, dining room and soft leather chairs , to sink into, for watching the T.V. or movie. we chose to eat in the Restaurant. make sure you book. it is a local favourite. lovely gardens to relax in the Sun. Continental breakfast , help your self.. home made jams. yum. You can see why we recommend it. a stop over for Kids, parents and Grandparents . THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. HAYLY. The Lazy Cow Accommodation
Lovely little family-run place. Stayed in a dorm which was perfectly comfortable and had electric blankets in every bed. Lounge kitchen area was well equipped and very comfortable with a log-burning stove. Restaurant next door, run by the same people, does excellent pizza. Plenty of parking. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Stayed here in early 2013 - lovely family run hostel with good facilities. Arrived late on a last minute booking - was travelling alone but they really made me feel at home there.Had an absolutely stunning evening dinner in the pop-up restaurant they ran just adjacent to the hostel with excellent locally sourced ingredients where possible.Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Would recommend the restaurant even if you are just passing - was only open certain evenings I think so may be worth checking their days/times in advance.

Fantastic shower and comfy bed. The restaurant is right next door, and the meal was delicious. Everything we needed when overnighting in Murchison, including a friendly cat :)

Super nice and cozy place!! Hostess really friendly. It's really like a small seperate home (next to the hostess' house and Lazy Cow restaurant) with seperate rooms that are open for booking. We had amazing other people that were there at the same time as us; we ended up watching tv in the living room together and playing cards, with an amazing view of the mountains and valley outside of the window. The next morning we used the clean and very well equipped full with food and utilities to have a nice fully included breakfast, we could take whatever and as much as we wanted. Rooms were slightly on the outdated side, but quite cozy and clean. This all for only 140NZD for 3 people. Truly an amazing experience and more than worth it!

The Lazy Cow Accommodation
Perfect in every way. This was the perfect guesthouse for us. We were received with a big smile, we got a clean and nice room, free breakfast, living room and kitchen to use as we like and their very own nice restaurant just next to it where we could get a free drink for every pizza because we were guests at the accommodation. What’s not to like?

I stayed in about 10 different hostels on my cycle tour of New Zealand's South Island in 2019, and this one was hands down the best. What stood out the most was actually the restaurant - they serve some of the best pizza I've ever had, which I never would have guessed coming from a joint hostel/restaurant. If you stop in Murchison this is the place to eat. Hostel was welcoming, they let me stay an extra night so I could eat more of their pizza - just kidding on the reason - but this place was very clean, welcoming, and friendly. Nothing I can think of they need to improve on

My friends and I stayed here a night on our way up to do the Heaphy Track. Cosy, clean and tidy. Good communal area and I really appreciated the complimentary breakfast! We also had pizza at The Cow Shed which hit the spot.

The Lazy Cow Accommodation
Great place to find in Murchison. A simple, yet thoughtful and delicious menu. We ate pizzas and with a great “build your own pizza” option, anything goes! Warm and friendly atmosphere and really good service from all the staff. This was a really great night out for us and we were super pleased we headed here rather than the hotel. Highly recommend.
