Paparoa Track Services

Great service for Paparoa Track walkers. We stayed at a local motel, left our car at the campground and were well shuttled to the start at Smoke-Ho for our walk back to Punakaiki. Hot shower at the end with a reasonable towel hire charge was the icing on the cake! Recommended and we plan to do it all again with friends next year.

Our stay at the Punakaiki camp, the transport and commentary to the start of the tramp at the south end of the Paparoa track was outstanding. The staff were a real pleasure, nothing was a problem.Thanks again for a wonderful experience.Martin

We really enjoyed the shuttle to the Paparoa Track. Lots of interesting things pointed out by the driver about the history and geology of the area. Also we had Aoraki/Mt Cook pointed out, which we would never have noticed ourselves. The free shower at the end of the tramp was very much appreciated and also looking after my boots, which I carelessly left behind and which were safely returned to me later. Recommended.

Our car relocation was seamless. We actually met the person who would be picking up the car when we picked up our lockbox from the mailbox. And the car was safely parked inside the camp when we arrived. Would totally recommend.

A great adventure and magical weather for it. Sadly I broke the rear mech off the bike after 5km so the rest involved plenty of walking but weather too nice to go down. Campsite is perfect too, quiet and plenty of wildlife and shuttle service is very efficient with friendly and helpful drivers. As good as the old ghost road and in some ways better for a day ride as it’s shorter and better balanced riding. Thoroughly recommended.

We jumped on Paparoa Track shuttle to start our walk on New Zealand's 10th Great Walk, the Punakaiki Beach Camp team just made our trip too easy! We stayed the night before in their Treescapes house and two nights after our walk, just perfect. We then jumped on the Shuttle, Jed's commentary was great, adding to what we thought would just be a standard shuttle. Would highly recommend starting and finishing with these guys in Punakaiki. A NEW great walk which is both challenging and exhilarating. I have had Parkinson's for 16 years and have other health problems that make outdoor pursuits a challenge. 66 years old and with no fitness training when we spotted a cancellation had opened up Midnight Tops hut, so had only 7 days to prepare.Parked the Campervan up at Punakaiki Beach Camp, caught the shuttle with Jed to Blackball and started walking. The Lord blessed us all the way by only allowing the rain to fall at night while we were safely tucked up in the well appointed huts. Very tidy toilets.An outstanding job by the track builders; the gradient is consistent and rarely over 1 in 10 and therefore manageable to keep a steady pace without going into cardiac overload. Because of our lack of fitness we took 4 days which was wise as we wouldn't have been able to do the 20 km from SmokeHo to Midnight Tops in one day.The 19 km on the 3rd day was mostly downhill but still a tough day for me. Last day (16km ) was also tough but is the probably the most spectacular scenery. That is not to say the rest is not wonderful with some excellent views of the National Park to be savored.

We hiked from Punakaiki to Black Ball, opposite the way it is normally done but the shuttle company said no problem. The staff was very informative and friendly. Our car was waiting for us exactly where they said it would be, we were very happy. The car was in great condition and we were given clear instructions every step of the way. Highly recommend Paparoa Track Services! Great Job! we will use them again. Thank you for making our trip stress free.

Great shuttle service to the paparoa track trail head. Comfortable shuttle, leaves on time with a friendly driver who gives a bit of historical commentary along the way. Very handy pickup location and dropped right at the beginning of the walk. Perfect for hikers and biker, very reasonably priced for the distance and easy to book online.
