Europcar Christchurch Airport

An all round good experience. Excellent price, excellent service, and the car ran well and was economical to run. Had it for 5 days, travelling from Queenstown to Christchurch with my family. Easy drop off. I parked in their allocated carpark at Christchurch airport, dropping the key off to the man inside the airport (at their counter). Thanks from a very happy customer.

Great car, however very weird customer service. They didn't do a walk around of the car first to check for damage, didn't make me sign off for no damage. Then after returning, tried to charge for damage I didn't do. Disputed it and they said they won't charge for the damage. My advice is to take photos before and ask for a walk around or the vehicle.

From a lot of reviews, I read the pickup desk is always under staffed. There was only 1 staff member dealing with customers and about 4 guys dealing with the vehicles. There needs to be a better balance. We were basically 1st to the counter off the plane at Christchurch and were told it would be about 20 minutes.. 1 hour later we asked the girl how much longer it would be only to be told we will have to wait. Apart from the check in process, all other aspects were very good.You guys have been doing this a long time. Surely there is a better way of scheduling the check in process, you know when planes are arriving. Maybe even take a leaf out of the airlines check in process which has made something that used to be tedious, into a much better experience.

After my first experience with europcar i wil never use or recommend Europcar again. I am local and booked a certain car for the experience of that car and taking my wife on a nice and romantic trip away. When booked was advised and confirmed that the certain car was available and that there was no similer" or alternative. as I stated if they could not provide I did not want to book it.when I arrived to pick up the vehicle was told the car was returned the night before and their staff did not put it on charge (EV - Tesla) in the end I was forced for pay a ridiculous amount for a non luxury car in which i would rather just drive my own car

I can't fault anything and would recommend to anyone provided you do your due diligence when booking. Everything was ready to go when we got off our plane and returning was just as easy even during after hours when they were closed. The car was also amazing. They also informed us of the car condition during pick-up and encouraged to take photos for our own comfort.

The 12 seater that we booked was not available due to unfortunate circumstances and we were notified by email 3 days prior to pick up. Europcar went out of its way to provide a 5 seater and an 8 seater for our use - at the original price which is way below the new 2 vehicles normal rental. At pick up, the staff was totally aware of the situation and everything went smoothly with no questions asked. This is superior customer service compared to other car rentals we had experienced.

Girl at pickup desk was nice. Easy process. Car was great and nothing went wrong at all. I was worried to just leave the car without anyone inspecting it upon return (took photos just in case), and when there was no-one at the desk inside the terminal, I was also worried to just leave the keys in the box without any close-off - but turns out, there was nothing to worry about at all. Email with invoice arrived next day with no hidden surprises.So nice to just know you are dealing with a fair company that's not out to rip you off.

Our experience with Europcar in NZ was fantastic. They were helpful, professional, and friendly. They ensured we knew what we required before we headed off with the car. The cars themselves were in exceptional conditions.

Been with Europcar many times, Easy pickup, Sukuki Swift was a great car which handled the twisting and turning roads superbly! Very easy drop off at Greymouth too!
