Part time daycare

Visited with my one year old on Waitangi Day. It was our first time going to something like Chipmunks. Generally not much for under two. The more exciting play area was for two to five year olds. The place seemed tidy although toys were worn out even compared to our local playgroup. Staff were friendly. I think I will wait till my baby is older to come back so he can enjoy the facilities available.

I was absolutely dreading sending my little man to daycare but had to go back to work. From the moment we first arrived the whole team did everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home. We were encouraged to settle at a pace that best suited us and when it came to leaving him for the first time, I felt safe and at peace entrusting his care to the lovely Sue. Every day is a new activity and there’s just so much for the little ones to do. Lots of exploring, outdoor adventures and nature, play led learning. The big kids look out for the little ones and there’s just so much love. The food is great, made with lots of love and not having to make lunches is just another bonus. It’s incredibly affordable and most importantly it’s a wholesome place that is run by people who really care. I cannot recommend highly enough and thank the Open Spaces team for such a wonderful second home!

Lovely amazing staff

Bumblebees has been part of our family since 2017 when our son started with them. He has been through all three rooms the centre has for the different ages and has recently left to start school - well prepared thanks to the wonderful care of his teachers.We originally chose Bumblebees because it had the cuddle factor" - it felt warm and inviting and where everyone genuinely cared for your child. Our son blossomed into an inquisitive and active boy and the team at Bumblebees fostered this and encouraged his learning - even taking on the challenge of keeping up with his dinosaur obsession. There were tears on graduation day as he said goodbye to those who played such an important role in his early years.The centre is clean and bright and the food is fantastic - so fantastic that we were often told he liked things but only if Angela (the chef) made them. There is space for the kids to run around and lots of activities on offer. There are fun outings during the year as well as fun visitors to the centre including a petting zoo

Two of my boys have been lucky to attend WanaExcel and have loved it there! Kelly was helpful and prompt setting up tours/settling in visits and the transition was very smooth. The teaching staff are brilliant and have a range of talents and passions that they share with the kids. They plan a wide variety of activities outside the preschool too - like biking, dancing and swimming. The two centres prepare them well for starting school - helping with their confidence, independence and making friendships.The communication with parents from the teachers and owners is super - we love all the learning updates, photos and videos that we get regularly.Thanks WanaExcel team, our family are very grateful for everything you have done for us!

My 5 year old Son has ASD/ OCD /ADHD and has just finished his time here.I can sincerely and honestly say this is the BEST ECE service in Hamilton City.They make all the lunches. They do real independent montessori learning. Most of the teachers are Mothers. And have such patience and are so gentle. I hope they decide to extend into Primary. As we would stay forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The best Child care in this area. Very frindly and caring teachers and staffs. My boy is waiting to play with his friends and teachers everyday. He particularly loves bicycle track and butterfly forest. Well organized centre physically and curiculumn for preschool as well.

Chipmunks Playland and Cafe in Lyall Bay is one of the few kids' play areas, which is open past 4 in a weekend. This is a huge bonus for us as our little man has a longer nap during the day in the weekend, so it is often up until 7pm or even 8pm dependant on previous days' activities.The play area itself is great for little ones who like to explore from slides of all sizes, interactive screens, ball pits, kids Rollercoaster, and more. There is enough to keep the kids entertained for hours.Chipmunks also offers an array of food to cater to all needs, including the stock standard chicken nuggets and chips but also pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and more.I would highly recommend bringing your little or not so little ones down to Chipmunks in Lyall Bay.

Both of our Children Miss 2 and Mr 1 currently attend this daycare, I can’t recommend it highly enough!! The teachers here are like our second family and there is so much genuine care and love for our Tamariki!! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful daycare in our community and can’t praise the facility or the teachers enough ❤️
