If you have an exemption for not wearing a face mask don't go anywhere near this place! An upstart of a counter jumper prohibited me going in and told me to get out. This was despite my wearing my exemption and covid pass on a lanyard on my neck. After getting Police advice I contacted Jaycar Head Office who told me they had two cases of Covid in the store and it was a Health and Safety matter. If this is true the store should have been shut down and cleaned. Because if this upstart of a counter jumpers refusal they missed out on a $400 sale. If I was his boss he would be dismissed immediately as there are two ways to explain a situation not just say get out" . It is a case of no respect for a much older person and lack of manners. An official complaint to the Minister of Health has been made regarding this companies divisive attitude. Don't go there!!!!!"

Went to purchase a sound system for the gym and was refused entry even though i showed my exemption card due to health reasons for not being able to wear a mask.The response and manner it was given was beholding or fitting of a customer service staff.Will not recomend this store to anybody.

Great knowledge, service and prices. In the 5 years I've been a customer, the staff have always been super helpful and have technical knowledge of the products they are selling and also help in finding ways to achieve the outcome customers are looking for. Where some of the big name tech-and-appliance stores just sell you a $50 cable, Jaycar staff might find an adapter. Generally their prices are lower than the big brand stores but with the service of a high-end boutique audio store.

Disgusting behaviour from management there towards people with mask exemptions! They will no doubt find themselves in trouble with particular potential patrons if they keep it up! Sort it out jaycar! Or stay home in your own fairy tale bubbles

I have to agree with others feedback. Really rude and impatient. I will never go back. Thought maybe it was directed at women but my hubby said he was treated the same. There was no one else in the shop so it's not like they were busy. Not a great place to shop at

A terrible experience dealing with a disheveled, overweight guy who went by the name of Joe. Couldn't have been more unhelpful if he tried despite having the product I needed which he stated they did not sell. A lesson in product training and customer service would not go a miss pal. You might find better customer interaction with an attitude adjustment, not leaving your customers feeling as though they're an inconvenience

This has to be one of the worst shopping experiences we've ever had. Reading through all the other negative reviews, we're obviously not the only people, who came across this rude and discriminative staff, that wouldn't accept my mask exemption card and made me stand outside the door in the rain, while my husband had to literally battle with staff and management to sort out a purchase he made a few weeks ago.Not only were these people most unfriendly, they also don't know a lot about their own products. We had been sold the wrong item by staff no. 7799, who had guaranteed us that this item would be most suitable for our needs.It turned out though,  that it wasn't doing what we were told it was going to do, therefore it was useless for us.My husband asked for a refund and was told in the most rude way, that he wasn't gonna get one, because the shop had a 7 day return policy. The item though was bought as a present and had only been opened just recently. That of course did not interest the Jaycar staff the slightest. My husband was also not offered a replacement and had to leave the shop,  with a useless item and 369,- $ short.People, if you have the chance to use a different store, do so.We decided to drive over to the Tauranga branch, where we were welcomed with a smile, no questions about face masks and got our refund for that very same item.Jaycar Rotorua has definitely lost two more customers, we'll never set a foot into that shop ever again. Appalling !

Very poor and rude customer service. I had to leave the shop after a few very inpatient remarks from the young man serving me. I was aware that I had no idea and I needed his help to buy the right thing, he was too busy to tell me what setup he has, didn't listen to my details and didn't offer me options. Not going back there if I can help it. Thank you!

I'm going to have to be honest. The new sales representative today was great and knowledgeable. Approached him with a previous query I had brought to the store before with no real suffice, but this time around the new employee was able to identify the problem and even work out the correct Wattage I require for my application. The previous sale representative I dealt with was older and seemed to be anxious most of the time and was honestly a bit of a struggle to interact with. Much pleasant and surprising experience this time, around.
