Ormond Road cafe
Came here last Sunday with my two kids. It was moderately busy.Teenage boy at the till forgot my order (3 drinks and a scone) between me saying it and him going to ring it up.It took 25 minutes for our drinks and scone to arrive; delivered one at a time because the same youth struggles carrying more than one item.Every meal or drink delivered to tables around ours was accompanied by an apology for the long wait/and or incorrect order.The little cubby house in the garden is a nice touch, but the steep, slippery ramshackle stairs up to it appear to have been made by someone who bears an active grudge against kids."

What a lovely little Cafe. Very popular when we arrived. Beautiful food. Hubby had Big Brekkie and I had Magic Mushies both very nice. We had coffee and cake after very tasty. If in the area again will definitely go again the staff were lovely

Best steak and egg breakfast in Gisborne, get it with salad instead of chips and Beverly the Barista makes the yummiest coffees. Its a joy to sit under the patio roof at the tables outside in the morning sun. Love the chicken and waffles also

My comment has been deleted by the owner 4 times now. I am determined to keep this review up. No matter how many times I have to write it.I had terrible service. I ordered a coffee and a meal off the menu.My coffee took an hour to get to me. And it was stone cold when it eventually did get to me. It wasn’t very nice either. I only had a few sips out of it before feeling sick to my stomach.And the food I had was not worth waiting almost an hour and a half for.There wasn’t many people in the cafe. Maybe 2 other tables. All the workers just stood around talking. I only ended up getting my coffee and meal after I went up to the lady and asked where my order was. The lady I spoke to was quite rude also. She had an attitude with me both when I ordered and when I asked how far it would be. The cafe was extremely dirty. The floor has thousands of crumbs so clearly they don’t clean up.I do not recommend this place at all. I will not be back. Ever.

Great service considering there were only 2 staff on doing a fantastic job. Presentation was superb, portions sizes huge and tasted great. We were a large group and everyone enjoyed it.And the coffee and meal loyalty cards are a great idea.

Good food would improved with heated plates now weather getting cooler. Food goes cold fast but it is also delicious so you eat it quickly. Had the homemade beans and side of bacon. Parter had mushrooms and no complaints

Popped in here for a coffee and a bite to eat before we made our way to Wairoa. Loved the food and coffee. They gave me a brownie as it took a while before my food arrived. We all finished our food and made our way to Wairoa with full bellies. The staff here are awesome and will definitely recommend this place to others!

Made my daughters 11th birthday cake. Cake was yum(vanilla) & decorated beautifully. Cost $80.00And my babies 1st birthday cake cost $140
