Shanghai Bistro and Bar was amazing. It was the first time I had come but my wife recommended it. The food was amazing, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was great too. Reminded me of my time in China years ago. Thank you team for a great night.

I can’t believe that there is a such bad restaurant,it’s my first time to try it,so slow cooking speed, we have waited 25-30mins,none of one dish is ready,we have to take away due to time shortage~

Food here is the most authentic Shanghai cuisine in NZ I have ever ate. Highly recommend the Sheng jian bao here, it's crispy, juicy and tasty all in one. It will renovate your perception of bun.We had two kind of noodles, one is bland soup with fish chunks and the other one is with spicy mince meat (not too spicy and quite taste). Also tried some dishes of beef, beef offal and prawn with bamboo shoot. All good and for a nice price.

Usually very nice food, however I was very disappointed today. The food was subpar for them, and the service terrible. The staff looked extremely disinterested and could barely be bothered responding. We ordered the crispy chicken- it was not at all crispy, and was mainly bones. Not worth the $27 paid for the dish. The other two dishes we ordered were ok. Despite being a semi regular customer in the past I'm not sure I'll be coming back, especially for the $95 price tag.

Great atmosphere, the bird cage table is popular, booking this table is recommended, sits around 6 to 7 people around the table comfortably. Order dishes on a pad. Quick and easy ordering, fast table delivery. Some free parking available at the rear but not many.

Absolutely delightful! Probably one of the best Shanghainese places in town.Everything we ordered turned out to be completely delicious, authentic and satisfying, staffs are friendly, ambiance is great, will be back frequently!
