Budget Car & Truck Rental Nelson Airport

Be aware that they close at 9 even though the last flight to Nelson gets in after 9. I selected the wrong pick up time and they were closed when we arrived. We returned the next morning and they ended up giving us the car for the previously booked rate which was generous. I would have given 5 stars except the lady was kind of mean about it.

I will never hire any vehicle again from you guys. First of all, they charged for an extra day without informing me. Every car rental charges per day, not for the 24-hour cycle, and you guys didn’t notify me know at the time of hire even after I told you when I would return my car. Secondly, I filled up the fuel from Nelson city before returning the vehicle to Nelson airport, and you guys charged me extra money for the fuel later. I wish I could give a negative star to you guys.

The Rental Car was hired on 12th Feb 21 for 4 Full Days and returning the Rental on Tuesday morning but due to the Covid lockdown from Tuesday 16th, we had to come back to Auckland on Monday 2pm and we also returned the car earlier then hired at 1.15pm. The rental car is good but the staff who served us her service was poor. Not helpful at all and if you have any emergency and want to return the Rental earlier they do not give any refunds whereas other rental car companies do give refund for genuine emergency reason

Never, ever going to rent from Budget again. I was billed $550 for damage to my rental car without being notified, and the corporate customer service" office's stance is that I signed a rental agreement

Just wanted to say that the young lady who looked after us when we arrived on Friday night 18th August was absolutely amazing, very thoughful and extremely helpful, even stopped to ask how we were doing when we left the airport!Thank you so much. Always friendly staff with good serviced cars. Never used any other company.

Car promised wasn't available. Only available car was 2 categories down. No discount offered. Station supervisor was unpleasant. Second star given for the nice young employee who was clearly embarrassed by her boss. I'd steer clear of this station. Budget is my default agency and they are very good almost all of the time - just not in Nelson.

Terrible. Booked a car online months in advance. Our flight was severely delayed due to all the earthquake stuff happening at the time. Got into Nelson at 11pm or so. No one was at the kiosk, so we called the number given on the phone on the desk about 6 times. No answer, called customer service, no answer anywhere. We were stuck in Nelson with no transportation. We bit the bullet and spent the night at a nearby hotel. The next morning when we returned and explained our situation, and asked for them to cover our unexpected hotel cost, they said they couldn't because we should've called to tell them we would be late. Which is ridiculous because we didn't know we'd be that late. Every time we we're about to board they would delay the flight by another hour. Very unhappy with the service we received from the manager there as well. We will be calling the customer service line when we return home.

Fantastic customer service! My partner left her sunnies behind, after asking about them and thinking they were lost the manager went out a personally look for and found them and then came a found us in line and hand delivered them. I am really amazed and greatful at the extra care and attention. Thank you so much!

Didn't honor quoted price and asked for 5k insurance excess with no possibility to reduce it..... Didn't pick Van up
