Best Indian in Auckland! Food epic, setting really comfortable and trendy decor. Cool to able to see chefs cooking and staff friendly and helpful. Whangaparaoa lucky to have this as a local!

Decor beautiful. Staff wonderful and very attentive. Unfortunately the meal disappointed. more expensive than most other Indian restaurants. Beef rendang was a lot of sauce and very little meat. 5 small pieces, which were lovely, and rice is charged as an extra. 1st time I've encountered this at an Indian restaurant

Gorgeous atmosphere with the most authentic Indian dining experience I have had so far. You can see the chefs at work, creating magic. My new favourite Indian restaurant.Great for warming up in winter. Amazing place for a date with a significant other.

Although I have used this restaurant several times including Takapuna and have never had a bad time this visit was very disappointing and very expensive with a 15 % surcharge which was not disclosed or showing on the menus ? I mentioned that the goat curry was very chewy and did not fall of the bone as described in fact the meat was not good . The owner / Manager did say they were having issues with their meat supplier ?? Great !!! The curry was not good and the bill north of $220 and not one appology from the manager why my food was not up to standard … what a shame

Visited Whangaparoa for a short break. Was a last minute decision for us to meet with a friend here. An 'Authentic Indian Menu' that wasn't Anglisised. We all enjoyed our meal.The restaurant has an open kitchen, which I always find reassuring. Food was fantastic.I found the prices reasonable: contrary to what some others have posted. We were meant to feel most welcome. Despite being in a modern shopping complex, the decor creates a very relaxing ambiance.Best Indian food I have tasted in NZ so far.

Big Tikka is consistently high quality and in my opinion is one of the top two restaurants on the coast. It is hands down the best Indian restaurant on the coast.Our faves are the Pahadi Palak Paneer (often a Saagwala) which we sometimes get paneer and sometimes opt for chicken, the Prawn Malabari (Andaman Jingha Malabari) is soft, juicy and full of flavour and we love the Kurkure Mirchi Aloo as a side. The coconut rice always adds to the meal too.Would absolutely recommend, and will continue to support during these tough times so it can stay around.Keep it up Big Tikka team.

$35.50 for this, takeaway menu.2 small cups 1 of rice and 1 of the main chicken which is mostly soup.It's not good

I love their food. It's definitely our go to Indian restaurant. The food is always delicious, and service is good. Awesome value for the food you get. Definitely recommend.

Mothers day, decided to treat myself with some spice to spice up my day.Went in and ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Naan and Veg biriani not too buzy being a Sunday.Took ages waited and waited finally got meal, very disappointed Lamb was watery and tasteless, no salt, stringy meat, veg briani nothing special very bland and tasteless and portion small compared to the price. Almost seemed like an after thoughtThe Naan seemed to be ok very burnt on one sideI paid a lot it seems to be most expensive on the coast compared to other Indian takeaways didnt get my moneys worth.Wont be going back again very disappointed...I would have been better off having toasted sammies for my mothers day treat
