Mount Aspiring National Park

I changed my plans to spend two extra days in the park. It was far more majestic and beautiful than I'd expected. The trails are well maintained. The entire park was wonderful.

Gorgeous but not really much in the way of a national park experience. This would be considered something to see from afar and take some photos not something you can experience by hiking or skiing as there is very little access areas.

The Rob Roy Glacier Track is really beautiful. You can see the glacier tip from far away when you walk 15 minutes from the carpark to the bridge above the river. To get a closer look at the glacier you'll have to hike up at least 3-4 hours return, so be very mindful of the time you go. Best is to ahead there in the morning, as there's a long stretch of gravel road to drive which slows your travel speed down significantly, along with many fords along the way. It's about 1 hour 30 mins drive from Wanaka. It's one of the best ways to see a glacier without having to spend much money on helicopter rides. It's not worth the drive there if you are not going to hike the full track, so plan wisely.

Beautiful view from this amazing and mountainous region! I cannot wait to visit again, New Zealand has just thrown so much beautiful scenery our way it's difficult to rate them againced each other. I would recommend this to any traveler looking for some amazing and remarkable scenery from Lord of the rings. A+++

Incredible scenery. Impossible to catch the vast size in photos.Very nice drive from Wanaka to Haast.

This place was not on our list but so glad we drove and camped opposite. The blue pools were stunning. It was our weeks highlight. The DOC camp opposite had great views too.

Such a stunning spot! Even in the pouring rain it was worth the effort. A quick dip in the refreshing glacial waters was appreciated too! Got to see a rock wren too.

Amazing scenery and such a beautiful, magical hike. Relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend this national park, but especially the Gertrude saddler route for very experienced hikers. way better than any boat in Milford sound and one of the best views I ever had. start early so the valley is maybe covered in clouds so it looks stunning. ONLY try when good weather and not in winter, otherwise it could be fatal.
