Murchison Motel is the gold standard in hospitality! A large, comfortable room offering a king size bed, clean bathroom, and well equipped kitchenette, and love seat in the sitting area.In the bathroom, Kadie and Glen kindly provide locally sourced shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. We were provided with an ample supply of towels already warming on the towel warmer.The closet space provides ample storage and includes a luggage rack, ironing board, iron, and hair dryer.The kitchenette is perfect for preparing a home cooked meal with all the items you need. Kadie and Glen even provided a selection of instant coffee, teas, sugar, and milk in the fridge. If you want to go out for a bite to eat, Kadie and Glen thoughtfully made suggestions of where to dine during your stay in Murchison. The motel is conveniently located downtown, and you are able to walk to most major attractions in town including shops, restaurants, and walk ways.If this was not already enough, there are also laundry services available to guests. It is free to wash your clothing and laundry detergent is provided. There are drying racks available for guests to utilize, or you can use the dryer for $4.Thank you, Kadie and Glen, for your outstanding hospitality! Should we find ourselves in Murchison again, we would be delighted to stay with you again!

Off the road, quiet, clean and comfortable. No curtain or glass around the shower which meant water went everywhere. But overall our stay was good.

This small motel is well place in the township centre, away from the main road and handy for cafes. The room is clean, modern and well equipped.Only downside for us was the fully tiled bathroom which had a shower but no stall resulting in a wet and slippery floor all night.

Big room, confortable, clean, with everything you might need in the kitchen. A small advice for the owner - a shower curtain will avoid water everywhere in the bathroom.Regarding the organization checkin/out very clear simple to do at every hour so be confident and book a room

Been reading iffy reviews about the other accommodation in town, not sure where to stay?Murchison Motels aren't the cheapest, but are absolutely clean and tidy, with good quality fittings and kitchen equipment, has everything supplied that you need as a traveller travelling light (I was on a motorcycle). You wouldn't be embarrassed to bring your mum here (although each room only has one bed, so clearly you wouldn't!).Only slightly odd thing was that they were still running a contactless reception due to covid" even though most NZ businesses have done away with those sorts of precautions

Booked last minute here at Murchison Motels. The MM was the first one in town I came across, so I called in. Friendly lady at reception offered me a room for a $165. I decided to bite the bullet and paid my money.The whole motel complex is very quiet and private, with a swimming pool and parking directly outside the units. The rooms are very spacious, with a small kitchenette, bathroom, massive bed, with a proper sofa to sit and watch telly. The TV had the Sky 50+ channels. Room was tastefully decorated, with quality linen on the bed, and lovely hand made soaps and shampoos in the bathroom. Bathroom was a open plan wet area type which was not to my liking, as water goes everywhere!!! But everything was very clean and tidy and well appointed.I really enjoyed my stay here, but I did struggle with the value for money aspect of the deal. I reckon it was maybe $20 overpriced. But, that's my opinion. Would could do far worse then book in for a night at the Murchison Motels

Clean, comfortable, and well located.The room is very well set up, with everything you would hope for in a good Motel. There are free laundry machines you can use, and the bed is very large and very comfy.The location is private, with a nice little sitting spot outside.A few reviews have mentioned the wetroom style shower in the bathroom causing water to go over the room a bit, which is true - but not a big problem.A very enjoyable and comfortable stay

What a find! Spacious, extremely comfortable, quiet, and best of all for us - spotlessly clean! The kitchenette is well appointed so is easy to cook own meals. The bathroom is large and shower was perfect. Loved the toiletries selection. Will find a reason to come back.

Top motel. New, large one bedroom, high stud, heating in both lounge and bedroom, underfloor heating in kitchenette and roomy bathroom, heat pump for summer, huge bed, parking outside. Best accommodation we've had in our many years of travelling the South Island.
