Deus Ex Machina Motorcycles

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at this cafe. Went in on a Sunday morning for some brunch. Were told at the time of ordering that the kitchen was busy and there would be a bit of a wait. Given the cafe was only about three-quarters full, this seemed surprising but we were happy to wait.After waiting 45 minutes of waiting for two plates of eggs with a few sides, my friend went to ask if the meals were far away. They said the kitchen was still very busy (by this time the cafe was only about half full) and our meals would be the next to be served.Ten minutes later, after waiting 55 minutes by this stage for our meals, one of the staff approached us. As she did, I asked if the meals were far away as we had now been waiting 55 minutes. She said yes, yes, but that the kitchen had now run out of a side of avocado and would I be happy with a side of fruit. Given I was having scrambled eggs with salmon, a side of fruit didn’t really seem like a great choice to me so I said no I would rather have a refund. Then I again said that I wasn’t very happy to wait 55 minutes for a meal. I understood the cafe had been busy, but that this really seemed an excessive length of time to wait for a meal in a cafe. Instead of apologising, she said the kitchen had been slammed and they were working as hard as they could.When our meals finally arrived, an hour after ordering, they were fairly average. My scrambled eggs were dry and more like an omelette than scrambled. I decided there was no point in complaining given the rather unsatisfactory response I previously had received.The staff member who had previously approached us brought over a few bites of brownie and said that was to apologise for the wait. At first this seemed like a nice gesture, but on closer inspection I realised these were the ends of the brownie that are sliced off and normally discarded.All in all, very, very disappointing. But the most disappointing part was the way the staff resolved or failed to resolve my issues.

Interesting cafe and motorcycle shop. Near my car park so handy for a pre work coffee.
