I’ve been seeing Nigel and his colleagues at the Hearing Institute for just under a year now. They are very professional and provide you with a warm and welcoming atmosphere which is vital to help ease off the nervous tensions. I’ve been to other ENT specialists in the past and in my experience they were so money orientated and didn’t provide me with the care or support I needed, ultimately I didn’t feel any better off. That is certainly not the case with Nigel, he made me feel like a valued client and provided support and care beyond the clinic.

I was treated by Nigel Sallis at the Hearing Institute for permanent high level noise induced tinnitus. Nigel understands the holistic impacts/treatments of tinnitus across all levels of the emotional, physical and psychological aspects and is also a Masters in Audiology. Friendly and welcoming, the Hearing Institute provides a benchmark in healthcare. It seems resolving hearing loss is not always possible but these experts willingly threw everything including the kitchen sink at it. That 'can do attitude' has infected the entire practice. Reception recognised an urgent situation and rapidly slotted me into an already full schedule.

I visited Nigel at the hearing institute just after lockdown — Nigel is a true professional with a lovely, friendly manner. I was very worried and confused about having to purchase new hearing aids but Nigel was fantastic with his kindness and knowledge, both of my unique ‘cookie cutter’ hearing loss and hearing aids. I never felt rushed and believe Nigel is truly interested in helping you make an informed decision — he is not interested in a quick sale. He gave me a demo pair for two weeks free of charge so I could try my new hearings aids before purchasing. He provides follow up sessions which are wonderful to learn about your new hearing aids and teaches you different techniques on how to use them. The Gilgit road specialist center is a private clinic center with doctors specialised in their respective field. It is recommended to have a insurance if you plan to visit place as the fees can be bit expensive. But the care and treatment given is worth each penny.

Nigel and the Hearing Institute without a doubt changed my life. Over the years I had lost a large portion of my hearing so much so my speech had started to be affected. I made the classic mistake of trying one of the big groups because of their advertising (talk really is cheap). It was apparent right away that I was just a number to them, topping it off the total lack of service. Then sadly an independent put on a show to get the sale from that point I found a lack of knowledge and understanding of the product and my condition. All of this was based within a very toxic environment. I was anger, frustrated and my new Widex hearing aids were unusable because of her. I tuned to Widex, They bent over backward to connect me with the right people and those people are Nigel & Tania at Hearing Institute they are my champions. Right from the beginning they treated me as a person with Respect, Honestly and Professionalism and this level of care is still continuing. They did more for me in the first appointment then the others did over 18 months. No matter how I feel when I arrive there, I always feel so much better when I leave.Thank you so much.
