Definitely try the chicken burger. I've had it twice now, and both times it's been incredibly succulent and delicious, best fish and chips shop chicken burger I've had in wellington.

Golden sun really is something special. I lived practically next door for a while and often bought takeaways and was impressed every single time. Years later, ive visited Wellington again and tried golden sun and it lived up to my memories in every single way. The chips are the tastiest chips ive ever had (without a doubt) and the burgers are delicious and moist. Not to mention everything is shockingly good value for money. I couldn't possibly recommend this place enough, it might just be the best takeaway shop in NZ

The fish were hardly cooked at all we had to put all the food excluding the chips into the air fryer to cook them properly. Possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Very disappointing.

Fish was very under cooked, soaked in oil, drenched in it, absolutely sick disappointed.. my sons hot dog so small & chips almost burnt, very small amount of chips for the price. We had been great customers for years.. yet when my husband brings this home, wow highly disappointed.. will not be coming back...I will spend money elsewhere... where you take pride in cooking for your former loyal customers.
