Dined here on Wednesday and the chicken burger resembled road kill. Dry bun and charcoal pineapple slice. Very overcooked chicken and the oil in the deep fryer desperately needs changing. However that said my son had the waffles and he really enjoyed them, lots of berries, sauce and cream so he was happy. Counter staff said there would be a wait which was a bit of a surprise given it was just after 11 and your could easily pick an choose your table.

Nice coffee and location, but the cost of this coffee was closer to $10 than $5! Too expensive and the costs for the cafe to make it are not this much!

It is a nice cafe and is humming most days. It is beautiful to sit down and explore the surroundings that's full of plants, sheds and pots e.t.c at Mitre 10.The kitchen was closed unfortunately when we arrived. Ordered two small lattes in glasses and a piece of baking with breakfast rosti.Lattes were served in massive cups. It was like drinking 500ml of milk. Didn't enjoy super diluted coffees. The baking was spot on. The rosti was crunchy, egg runny and bacon perfect. The whole dish tasted divine with creamy hollandaise sauce.A nice place to sit and chill.

Sadly the food has deteriorated. The salmon bagel $15 consisted of a dry tough toasted bagel, a huge lump of cream cheese mixed with horseradish and two pieces of thin salmon beetroot dry jellied dry. One had to leave due to the taste. The salad leaves were dry. Dirty cutlery was what pushed me to rate it. It was terrible. I’ve come back a few times but unfortunately this hasn’t improved. If you want a coffee and a cake it’s ok. Which looks like is what most of the other ratings discussed.

Delicious food ,great coffee helpful service. Wonderful Columbus breakfast. Good price considering other cafés charge around $15 for toast. Great place to have brekkie then go tool shopping.Highly recommended

Columbus has amazing food. Whether it's the Asian Chicken Salad or the Bacon Buttie Bagel it's all delicious. For breakfast I definitely recommend the Columbus Breakfast or the Paleo. Did I mention a 10 out of 10 in coffee selection.Update 06/05/19Just had Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles at Columbus Coffee in Mitre 10 and WOW!!! It never had a chance once it met my mouth. Well done Columbus Coffee.....well done!

I used to love coming to this place. This time the staff appeared to be frazzled. Unfortunately after a water spillage on the table we asked for a cloth or napkin to clean it up ourselves. We were told a staff member would clean it up. The staff member came over to the table with a soaking wet cloth and barely wiped the table down leaving the table surface far wetter than originally. You got the feeling she didn't want to be there, was not customer service focused at all. The cheese scones here used to be sublime, this time it was disappointing and barely tasted like cheese was in it. Service was below average. Will not be coming back.
