I contacted Post & Rail in November about a pole shed quote because there was a sale, I asked again when I picked up mouldings in November, I contacted them again on December the 15th, I called again early January.... You get the picture. Look elsewhere.

Fantastic service, great variety of products and price was unbeatable compared to three other wholesale timber businesses. Absolutely recommend this business hands down.

Brett Hodge at ITM Matamata = 0 communication, 0 integrity, 0 professionalism. If there was a choice of no stars we would choose that. Two years ago we wrote a rave review about Brett Hodge but we now need to revise that. In October 2021 (five months ago) we contacted Brett Hodge about a quote for a pole shed and his communication was quick and he was onto it. That’s where Brett Hodge's efficiency and communication ended. We chose ITM over a competitive and out of town company simply because ITM Matamata are local and we wanted to support a local business. Five months on from our initial contact with Brett Hodge we're still no further ahead than our first contact. Despite Brett Hodge cheerily saying on his phone message he WILL return your call, he doesn't. He needs to be chased up and chased up and chased up and sends a message saying he’s in a meeting and will call you back. Our last message to Brett Hodge was 10 days ago and we've still not heard from him. Every email and phone call has needed to be followed up by us as he doesn’t communicate.On enquiring about the hold up of our engineering plans, Brett Hodge told us the engineers had put our plans in the too hard basket because we're in a high wind zone. We're sure the engineers are professional - unlike Brett Hodge - and we feel there's much more to the story than what Brett Hodge is telling us. We no longer care and have now taken our business to the out of town competitor company who, after contacting them 23 days ago, already have our project well underway with plans being consented, we’ve chosen colours etc. To clearly illustrate the difference in customer service – that’s five months with no progress with Brett Hodge versus 23 days with significant progress with another business ...We had a gut feeling we wouldn't have a smooth time with Brett Hodge and we're thankful we didn't get to the stage of needing to pay a deposit. We would have been stuck with Brett Hodge and our pole shed project would have been phenomenally stressful with him at the helm.One day the current influx of building work will end and businesses will be reliant on their good reputation. We will NEVER again return to ITM Matamata or have anything to do with Brett Hodge. There are a multitude of other companies we can use rather than ITM Matamata and Brett Hodge and we would prefer to travel far and wide to source our supplies if unable to get them locally. ITM Matamata are $35,000++ out of pocket and the out of town company are quids in. We will certainly not be recommending Brett Hodge and ITM Matamata to anyone and will strongly discourage anyone from going to them.

Great variety of tools and building materials

Friendly and helpful but do not by builders mix there .2 of a cubic metre cost $40 which is $200 a cubic metre add in the cost of the cement and its over $300 a cubic metre before you mix it yourself.
